I understand WHY they did that but damn, if my bff was sobbing and pleading with me to listen to her, I wouldn’t point a gun at her even if I thought she was dangerous. I wouldn’t be interrupting her, cutting her off, throwing accusations. I would at least LISTEN TO HER. If they had listened to her and let her TALK, she wouldn’t have been upset enough to ripple the Honmoon during their conversation.

Someone wrote a fanfic that’s tagged Polytrix on A03, and instead of it actually being Polytrix, they’re shipping Rumi with two self-insert OCs while Mira and Zoey get cucked.

Like I don’t care if that’s what you’re into, but tag it right PLEASE! I was all excited to read the story based on the summary, and it was NOTHING like how it’s described. Talk about a mood killer, damn.

Omegaverse Empress Rumi AU except she’s a loser omega being forced onto the throne after all her older relatives passed away.

Her council offers to throw a competition to draw in noble alphas for her harem because she needs ✨heirs✨ and Rumi’s like “Fineeee but I’m gonna be a brat about it” only for the top two winners to be her childhood friends, Mira and Zoey, that promised to marry and bond with her when they got older.

Mira and Zoey are both noble, although Mira’s family is a lot more powerful than most others. Zoey’s family earned their position through becoming influential within the merchant trade system. Rumi originally grew up with them because their families were allies and Rumi’s father (omega prince) was low enough on the royal totem pole that he married for love into a lower noble family.

When her extended family died due to tragic circumstances, Rumi’s grandfather, the emperor, recalled her to the palace after she was confirmed to be his oldest living descendant; she spends years training to be the future ruler, while never forgetting the two girls she’d already given her heart to.

Needless to say, only a few months after her ascension, she’s put through court politics and has to find consorts. Her council basically strong arms her into allowing the competition (many of them pushing their own compatible relatives) only for an overjoyed Rumi to end up witnessing two extremely familiar alphas winning it all.

This but Rumi has pigmentary mosaicism which makes her skin look like it has patterns. It is partially the reason why she doesn't grow up with her family and instead with other nobles.

Most of the other contenders don't like them and usually say something along the lines of "the physicians say that our heirs will not have such hideous conditions". which pisses Rumi off. Mira and Zoey on the other hand love them and will trace them for hours if Rumi lets them.

Suddenly, Rumi is convinced that if Mira leaves now, she will never come back. She will look in Rumi's room and find nothing and assume that Rumi has fled to find another alpha, and then she will stop looking for Rumi, maybe go find another omega to love and dote on, and then Rumi will shrivel up and die in this room, alone, untouched, unclaimed. The notion is so abhorrent and yet so unshakable that Rumi simply has no choice. She has to stop it. She has to act.

Rumi springs up, races to the door, and scoops Mira straight into her bed.

Or at least, she intends to. Her bones, however, have taken temporary leave of her body along with her mind, and so what Rumi actually does is flop off the bed and onto the ground with a loud smack.

Mira, standing in the kitchen with Rumi wrapped completely around her like a koala: "Zoey, I'm going to need you to take her for a few hours, my back is starting to hurt. Piece of advice, use the bathroom first."

Sports doctor: "This diet and supplement regime you're asking for is the kind of thing I normally put together for world-class athletes training for endurance competitions at the very peak of human ability. Are you sure--"

I love this art piece so much!

You have Rumi in the back, but she's importantly in the center. Your eyes are immediately drawn to her first, she's positioned higher than the other two, but she keeps stable by holding onto Zoey while Mira's positioning covers the skin of her bare legs. It gives the idea that she's important, while showcasing the connection between her and the other two. She cannot stand without them.

Zoey's in the middle. From what I can see (I might have missed something), Zoey is the only one touching both of them. She's the glue, the bridge, but you can also see that she's not the reason there's a connection between Rumi and Mira; she merely allows it to flourish through her own balancing presence in the trio. Zoey's positioning gives the impression that she's protective of Rumi and trusting of Mira. She's flexible in their relationship because that's what works best for her.

Mira is my favorite part. She's positioned in the front, protective and almost possessive in how she's angled. Her face, while alluring, also hold a degree of warning, like "Stay away from my girls." There's no questioning who the guard dog of their triad is, the way she so casually leans against Zoey's legs, her arm purposely laid out over their maknae's knees to get her message across. Meanwhile, she's also leaning in front of Rumi's legs, keeping much of their leader hidden from 'predatory' eyes.

I love it! I could completely be wrong about how I interpreted it, but that's the vibe I'm getting, and whether or not I'm wrong doesn't change the fact that this is an amazing piece!

I feel like a few months into their relationship, in the middle of a non-serious petty argument, Rumi suddenly drops a bomb by playfully accusing Mira and Zoey of not caring about her feelings because she's a demon, and demons have no feelings and don't deserve to live.

Mostly because she figures hey, it's been a while now, and they've talked about it all, right? They're just japing after all, they know she's not serious, right? They can joke about it now after everything, right?

...right?

The silence that follows is suffocating.

"Zoey? Mira? Girls? What's wrong?"
