I really believe the “Armends” pun was Lestat editorializing. Not because Armand would never say that, but it’s just such a Lestat joke. I really think that he thought of it after Armand apologized and was kicking himself just waiting for another opportunity to use it, so he worked it into his retelling of Louis’ account of that evening when he was recording the Failures.
And when I look back on who I've deceived — how I've deceived — how easy it was for me to lead a cult for four hundred years, to burn in ritual any who broke the archaic laws we lived by, I...
beautiful almond but at what cost? :(
i genuinely think the tvl finale would have been saved by putting lestat in louis' place in the torture scene
beyond that i think from a filmmaking perspective IT WOULD HAVE BEEN SO INTERESTING
cutting back between lestat at the table and armand torturing him would have been so cunt and actually connected the scenes, having it all feel like its driving to a finale, rather than lestat not doing much and louis having an unrelated side adventure
structually it would solidify that the season is about LESTAT
what better way to show you failed in your life then your ex boyfriend hating you and be obssessed with you so much that he beheaded you and asked for an apology?
we would have gotten the culmination of lesmand NOT TALKING about their relationship and maybe got some hints are more information
we would have seen Armand confronting his own repressed feelings about lestat
the seeds that were planted that armand was pissed at lestat would have paid off (where as not once was it EVER implied he was still mad at louis, enough to do all this)
armand torturing lestat would have added to the tone that what lestat was doing/was planning to do was DANGEROUS and that he's about to fuck around and find out, which then would have further supported his turn on gabriella at the end
daniel monologuing at and playing keep away with louis' head would be more compelling, as they actually have a character relationship
the phone countdown would have been more suspenseful intercut with fareed not sure if he could sew the head back on
louis popping up at the end so much more heartbreaking as we wouldnt KNOW that he was fine
it makes me really upset more than anything knowing how EASY it would have been to make this work, but they didnt
Okay, so, to sum up...
Armand stans are furious because he only had like 15 minutes in total this entire season and because, once again, he was turned into the unhinged, ultimate villain of the season, just because the audience needs a punchbag, and the writers decided that it's always going to be Armand.
Louis stans are furious because he was made to apologize for being a bad partner while being horrifically tortured and abused. And because he has suffered various racist micro-agressions throughout the season by various different characters, including Lestat.
Lestat stans are furious because he literally got nothing to do other than having introspective hallucinations and he has no agency or personality outside of his victimhood and woobification in this season.
Daniel fans are angry because he keeps using racist slurs and tries to sound like an edgy wannabe teenager while he's supposed to be a Pulitzer winning, serious reporter.
Claudia fans are angry because even in death she's disrespected and used by Loumand to reestablish their toxic love for one another.
Nicolas fans are furious because the character appeared merely in flashbacks for like 3 minutes in total and then as a fuckass hallucination.
Gabrielle and Marius fans are angry because they are nowhere to be found (no, what we got was not them guys).
Loustat stans are angry because they didn't even share a kiss and their relationship progression was hasty at best, completely unearned, and extremely disrespectful to Claudia.
Nickistat stans are angry because they got absolutely nothing except for one flirt scene at a tavern and then absolutely nothing at all.
Loumand stans are angry because their relationship had a violent ending rather than the emotional, mutual understanding and reconciliation that we were hoping for.
Lesmand stans are rightfully furious because they made the ship completely one sided, with Armand truly being in love with Lestat while Lestat only ever saw him as a hole to shove his dick inside, and otherwise as boring and pathetic and not worthy of his time. While, in the books, the two of them are absolutely fascinated and in love with each other, and Lestat is always super affectionate with Armand, and even after all the bad blood between them, they still DEEPLY love and trust each other.
Both Loumand and Lesmand stans are furious because, after what these fuckass writers had Armand do at the finale, now there's zero chance of us getting our ships or at the very least see them all in good, friendly terms with each other.
And, of course, Devil's Minion stans are also rightfully furious because we have been teased for four years and properly baited for two years to get us to show up and bring our online engagement for TVL, with all our enthusiasm and love for our ship, only to receive pathetic crumbs and implications, and to have Armand and Daniel's 12-year-relationahip turned into a 52-year, one-sided stalking (fuck you, writers).
So, guys, I genuinely have to ask myself... since we are ALL disappointed and furious... who the FUCK was this fuckass season even for??? 😭
the group chat when i ask whos available to hang out next week
Assad Zaman as Armand Interview with the vampire 2.06
The Vampire Lestat | New York
[scrolling through a fandom tag] wrong. wrong. incomprehensibly wrong. wrong but harmless. nice style and color palette but I don't care about that ship. mildly entertaining liveblog update. they whitewashed my girl :( . good joke, reblog. wro--well that's my mutual so I will politely look away. fifteen posts in a row by an innocent rp blog that I don't have the heart to block. take I agree with but op was annoying about it. chapter twenty-eight of a longfic wip. !! GOOD POST !!, instafollowed. bot. technically correctly tagged but uses this acronym for something completely different. museum worthy art piece by a sixteen-year-old from the philippines. wrong. wrong but in a new and exciting way that provokes thought.
when someone is completely fucking wrong about your blorbo but you don't want to argue about what basically boils down to opinions about shit that doesn't matter so you just sit there like
"that guy's wrong tho"
you get it
He is trying to be the Devil's Minion's minion
most importantly if you learn about things you will be able to understand art better. or whatever fag shit it is you like

Sam teasing episode 7
SAM: It's really crazy. It's really wild.
AUTUMN: I can't wait to watch it cause I've got to say six really broke me. It really broke me down. So, I'm ready to see it.
SAM: I mean, I think seven is like... I can't tell you. I can't speak.
AUTUMN: I don't want any spoilers, but do you have any words of warning?
SAM: I'd say it is a combination of the most horror we've ever done and the most... otherworldly. Yeah, I mean I think it would kind of hopefully give context to why the season is the way it is. Um and it will give some sort of structure into why– It gives some kind of– The season has always been building to this one specific episode. This was Rolin's initial idea of how to convey this impossible-to-adapt book and the core theme that he wanted to pull out of it and how he wanted to convey it... at least in terms with Lestat. And then– and outside of that, it's just pure horror. And I'd say, yeah, Assad is doing like some of the best work I've ever seen. He's just amazing. He's incredible in that episode. He's absolutely incredible.
AUTUMN: I can't wait.
SAM: That's all I can say.
AUTUMN: Okay, that's all that we can say.
