Yay or Nay 🤭
Reading takes on here about how Percabeth is this beautiful romance is extremely amusing. Like, no hon. That's just a remarkably milquetoast straight romance at best and outright poorly written at worst.
Hi, so you guys remember this excerpt:
Just completed Hazel's PoV of Nico's coming out. It's right here.
Well, I know Cupid Scene has defenders, but the idea of a queer character finding acceptance when they're struggling with self-acceptance will always be amazing.
Ok, so what if Nico only got together with Will in a rash, hasty way. He was in a bad poor and mental state after all, he clearly wasn't thinking straight.
What if, it wasn't something that genuine, but rather for Nico it was just a sign of his maladaptive tendencies? The relationship is a way for him to gain access to friends, and help (therapy with Dionysus) which he would otherwise not have. He doesn't do this consciously; these factors just mask their incompatibility and make Nico dismiss his concerns and doubts about it.
I just started writing a fanfic about this right here it features Reyna and Hazel too, eventually.
Oh, the urge to make Nico comically hypermasculine out of sheer effin distaste for femme!Nico...
Maybe just me, but the way I read it in canon, Nico di Angelo personally gives the vibe that he's very very ace-spec, but not a black-stripe asexual.
In other words Canon!Nico feels like sex-neutral grey-asexual or demi-asexual, if you know what I mean. Like, I once ready someone describe him as "he doesn't feel attraction most of the time, maybe just 5%" and that seems most fitting to me.
Though of course, I still love black-stripe asexual Nico 😉
Gosh, I miss that time period upto 2024 where one could critique Riordan's sleazy representation without people jumping down their throat. This fandom has gotten so much dumber it's wild.
These "metas" are getting out of hand:
"The my headcanon is canon" vibes ho hard here.
Firstly, it was named "Andromeda", perhaps as a taunt to Percy.
As for planting those items and stealing them, it was the prerequisite for starting the godly war. So it made more sense to thieve from the "outcast" and the king of the gods himself.
If memory serves, the whole "Kronos needs a host" commences from Battle of the labyrinth, so there's that.
An important part of the series in the second half is the resurrection of typhon, who, in the riordanverse and mythology happens to be the enemy of Gods. Sorry, but Poseidon is putting his self-preservation over siding with his son, he was never going to side with them.
It really seems as if OP isn't even reading the series properly; the really have some extraordinarily farcical ideas. I can elaborate but I have no desire to.
The more I look into Riordan's representation, the harder it becomes for me to believe he had good intentions. Sure, he may not be be a horrid monster with a vile heart. But he does have (hopefully) subconscious biases which need unpacking.
Regarding to a certain character named Reyna...
No offense, but this is one of the most absurd things I've read in a long time.
Firstly, yes Percy's "rise" absolutely was planned. He was earmarked for the prophecy by Hera herself, for logic's sake. She orchestrated the unison plan of the two camps, and Percy's rise was a part of the same.
The reason Jason couldn't "ascend" is because Camp Halfblood and Camp Jupiter are structured in radically different ways, with different hierarchies. The power is held by Praetors in Camp Jupiter. At halfblood, the main powers lie with Mr. D, Chiron, partly with the Cabin Heads, who have some decision-making authority in crises. So, feel free to skip the maudlin sap.
As a biology enthusiast and student, the transplant and invasive species metaphor is also so misplaced. Both of them were Hera's transplants in a way.
There's also so much more wrong in OPs post, but my post is getting painfully long atp.
