anyone else remember that singing competition for teens that took place in a high school and the prize at the end was being in hsm3 or something

update it was called high school musical: get in the picture

it was hosted by nick lachey which was a great choice because i (and likely the rest of the audience) had no idea who he was

the commercials said that the winner would get to be in hsm3

which was a lie

the grand prize was a record contract with disney

(the winner doesn’t seem to have made any other music so?)

and also a music video to the song “just gettin’ started” which would air during the credits of hsm3

i do not remember this song

i think it’s fun to think about disney having a giant pile of generic pop songs that they just hand out to whoever on their networks can carry a tune

did you know there’s a hsm spin off film in latin america called high school musical: desafío because i sure didn’t!!!

the mexican version is pretty similar dialogue wise, but the songs were adapted with a reggaeton and hip hop style to appeal to the public (and this film was also filmed in argentina)

yeah it doesn’t say anything about the differences of the brazilian version
