There is a Go Fund Me page for our student’s family.  His sister (who just graduated from our HS in June) is very concerned about covering all of the costs for her younger brother’s funeral while mom is still in the hospital.  

While it’s always devastating to lose a student, this was an extremely tragic event.  On top of all of the worry and stress it has caused the family, I don’t want his sister and mother to have to worry about financials while trying to heal.

help me stay safe at school this year please

hi everyone! for those of you who don’t know I go to Johnson and Wales for culinary and I will be going back in September. I stay on campus and last semester I had to buy a parking pass for a parking deck that isn’t located very close to my apartment building because they sold out of the passes that are for my building. I work during the school year and since I have morning classes I work at night. it’s not very safe being a young woman and walking the streets of downtown Charlotte alone and I’ve had multiple scary situations happen like being approached by men twice my size or being cat called by groups of men. I can’t afford the parking pass which is $475 per year because I’m paying for school by myself and I owe them $5,531 still after all my financial aid and loans have been taken into account. my parents are filing for bankruptcy so they aren’t really in the best position to help me out.
