This is a blog dedicated to my fnaf story Operation Fazbear. It's mostly centered around my oc Abria Michaels- an ex police officer with personal ties to the Afton family- as she tries to sort through the broken pieces of the story.
This is mainly centered around the games timeline from fnaf 1 to security breach- excluding Ruin- and also some tiny details from the Silver Eyes trilogy (okay, like one detail).

I'm trying my hardest to actually, y'know, share stuff about this story since it's been knocking around in my brain for about a decade.

Scott cawthon had a really good go at naming the big bad of his series William Afton it's iconic it's memorably it's fitting and since then he's run out of whatever divine power gave him that name and has had no good names ever
The FINAL not changing, messy af timeline for this blog's au:
1963:
Afton and Henry meet during college in New York, bond over interest in robotics and become friends.
Henry and Bethany meet at the same college, also become friends.
Henry introduces Bethany and Afton to each other. Bethany and Afton hit it off and begin to date.
1965:
Henry switches to a different university that has better options for him and his degree. Meets his future wife Isabelle while he’s there.
Afton starts developing theories about Remnant. Spontaneously kills his first victim- a teenager named Paige Young- to test them. Does not get the results he’s looking for. Paige’s spirit is now stuck to him.
1966:
Bethany becomes pregnant with Michael, she and Afton just decide to go ahead and get married, despite them both still being in school.
Henry starts brainstorming ideas for Fredbear’s.
1967:
Bethany graduates college, she and Afton get married shortly after. Make plans to settle in Hurricane with Bethany’s family.
Afton returns to New York to finish his degree. While he’s there, he abducts and kills a young kid named Marcus to test out a new theory. Gets slightly better results, but still not what he’s looking for. Marcus’s spirit is now stuck to him as well.
Michael is born
Henry marries Isabelle
1968:
Charlie and Sammy are born
Afton returns to Hurricane, catches up with Henry. Henry invites him to join the Fredbear’s project, Afton agrees, taking on the business side of the venture while Henry takes on more of the artistic side.
While testing the animatronics, Henry has a minor springlock failure which results in a limp he carries with him for the rest of his life.
1970:
Fredbear’s opens
Bethany becomes pregnant with Elizabeth, she is born December of that same year
1972:
Sammy is abducted on Halloween by William in the Spring Bonnie suit. Restaurant shuts down for the time being while the investigation goes on.
William convinces Henry to shut the investigation down and open the restaurant back up. Henry reluctantly agrees.
Security puppet is added to the entourage of characters. Henry created it, inspired from a drawing that Charlie made for him in an attempt to cheer him up. He programs it to keep an eye on her specifically.
Shortly after Sammy’s abduction and murder, Afton begins having nightmares of a gangly puppet-like creature. Michael begins seeing it during the day, but doesn’t say anything about it. Elizabeth is also having nightmares.
1973:
William begins noticing that Security Puppet seems different (read:sentient) and often reacts strongly whenever he’s nearby. Starts forming a new hypothesis about Remnant.
Henry’s wife leaves.
Charlie keeps asking people in the Spring Bonnie suit about her brother. William gets tired of it and lures her outside to kill her, after making sure the Security Puppet can’t follow. Paige helps the Puppet escape so Marcus could control it outside to Charlie. Fredbear’s doesn’t close, but scraps Security Puppet due to its association with Charlie’s death.
Afton takes the robot and starts conducting some tests.
1974:
Bethany becomes pregnant with Ben, he is born June of that year.
Afton suffers his first spring lock failure.
Elizabeth stops having nightmares, but Ben starts being noticeably bothered by something in his sleep.
1975:
Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy animatronics are added to the retinue as an attempt to bring some interest back to the establishment.
William proposes turning Freddys into a brand, Henry half-heartedly goes along with it. Plans for Circus Baby begin.
Andrew Donahue- technician- is hired to help test the new prototype robots
Lacey Phillips- a concept artist- is hired to help out with the new animatronics
Circus Baby’s Pizza World also begins construction
1976:
Samuel Meller (Phone Guy) is hired
Stuck on a main attraction for the new restaurant, William comes across a drawing made by Elizabeth, and decides to incorporate that as the main act.
1978:
Circus Baby’s Pizza World goes on a trial run, but Elizabeth dies. Trial run ends, robots go underground for individual testing.
1980:
Two performers Lucas and Matthew wearing the Spring Bonnie and Fredbear suits are caught in a Springlock failure. Matthew dies, but Lucas survives, Fredbear’s closes for a few months
Ben’s nightmares worsen
Baby begins gaining sentience.
1983:
Bite of 83 happens
First five children (Jeremy, Cassidy, Gabriel, Susie, Fritz) are abducted.
Lucas Jamison- the Spring Bonnie performer who survived the springlock failure- goes missing. (ran into Afton, connected some dots, killed to tie up loose ends. Becomes Shadow Bonnie)
Fredbear’s closes for good this time.
Murder accusations are being pinned on Henry
Henry asks Afton to kill him, Afton refuses and declares he was just as responsible for Ben’s death as Michael was
Henry tries to kill himself but fails, makes accusations worse for him. Eventually leaves town.
Bethany and William have a falling out, resulting in Bethany leaving town.
1984:
Construction of toy animatronics begins
Plans for Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza begin, abandoning the use of the original Spring animatronics and focusing in on the side characters.
First Freddy Fazbear’s opens, Abria begins her investigation, aided by Michael.
Charlie starts communicating with Abria through the Puppet. Lucas as Shadow Bonnie also tries to help.
William switches Abria to the night shift, figuring she’d be killed. She survives and demands a switch back to the dayshift. Jeremy Fitzgerald hired to take her place.
Baby and friends begin breaking consistently. Technicians are hired to fix them
Fritz Smith is transferred to the Nightshift (Afton hates him because he smokes so he’s hoping he’ll die)
Bite of 87 occurs
Second wave of missing children (Simon, Trevor, Amelia, Molly, Cameron)
Freddys closes after a grand total of 7 months in operation.
Toy animatronics are scrapped
1988:
Michael and Bethany meet for the first time since she left Hurricane.
Abria is found dead in the old Freddy’s building, where it is presumed she killed herself, when she was in fact killed by Afton. She begins persistently haunting him, along with Paige and Marcus.
Circus Baby’s Entertainment and Rentals begins operation.
1989:
Baby has been persistently trying to escape and Afton is getting fed up
Makes Michael a late night technician to keep the animatronics at bay
Michael is scooped
Michael rejects Ennard and possesses his own corpse.
1990:
Afton is in sickly condition. He’s been testing Remnant on himself, and his body doesn’t know how to handle it. Despite this, with money earned from Circus Baby, Afton manages to open another Freddy’s location, in the original fredbear’s building, also uses the old models from the Fredbear location (they now have two ghosts stuck in each of them, they take turns controlling them)
1991:
Afton plans to abduct another group of kids, promptly stopped by Paige, Abria, and Marcus, who trigger a partial springlock failure as he’s suiting up. In his sickly condition, he’s unable to carry on.
Samuel (Phone Guy) takes over the night shift (and the record for how long someone remains on it) and gets mauled by Chica on his last week, somehow survives the attack and manages to drag himself out of the restaurant with a messed up leg and scars all over his face and chest; presumed dead by the company (but honestly is just living his best life somewhere far, far away from Hurricane).
1993:
Michael takes the nightshift for the remainder of the time it’s open as he tries to find a way to free the spirits
Freddy’s closes for reasons that surprisingly aren’t murder this time, just hygene issues.
Paranoid by the spirits haunting him, William goes back to the abandoned building and destroys the animatronics, setting the rest of the spirits loose. William hides in the Spring Bonnie suit- fully knowing the risks- and welcomes the inevitable failure, seeing this as his final experiment and the only way he’s going to achieve immortality.
2019:
Plans for Fazbear’s Fright begin, run by the Evans siblings: Lydia, Zach, and Dylan (Dylan is Phone Dude)
Michael begins trying to sabotage the project
At some point Lydia tracks down the original Fredbear’s building and tries to communicate with any spirits within. Comes in contact with Sammy, who’s mostly dormant, except when questions about Afton come up. Lydia is chased out of the building by the spirit.
2020:
Building is bought and actors are wanted
Lydia tracks down Bethany and asks her some questions. Bethany gives her the tapes from Abria’s unofficial investigation.
Springtrap is found
Dylan is killed by Springtrap in the attraction. His body is stuffed in a vent and found by Zach
Lydia begins working in the attraction as the fright guard before it officially opens
Michael and Lydia talk, after some time they concoct a plan to burn down the establishment with Afton still inside; map out an escape path for Lydia. Not everything goes as planned, due to the faulty wires the building goes up in flames without Michael doing anything and Lydia nearly dies in the fire. She’s led out by Paige.
Missing children’s spirits are set free.
Henry gets back into contact with Michael, talks of how to move forward begin.
They try to set Sammy free once they learn where he ended up. They scare the spirit away, and the sight upsets Charlie so much that she chases after him.
2021:
Henry builds the new building, working with whoever owns Fazbear’s now by setting up a phony explanation about what it’s supposed to be.
Abria joins in the project, having spent some time trying to find Charlie and Sammy after they ran off, but having no luck.
Henry builds Lefty and sets it free in the hopes that it may catch both Charlie and Sammy.
Events of Pizzeria sim occur: establishment set ablaze, remaining kid’s spirits set free, Michael and Henry parish in the fire, at last able to rest with their family…
…
…
Oh, you thought this was over? How cute.
2024:
In an attempt to distance themselves from the past and cover up Afton’s atrocities, Fazbear Entertainment recruits a small team of developers to create a game based off of the ancient pizzeria. They’ve even auctioned off old pieces of the burnt down pizzeria, including Springtrap’s head, which was found in the wreckage and unfortunately still has a fragment of Afton’s spirit attached to it, because the man simply won’t let it go.
Development officially starts. Team consists of Nikki (Tape Girl), Jeremy (not Fitzgerald), Vanessa and their manager Dale, who they never really see, just get a bunch of unreliable emails from, and are partially certain that he doesn’t actually exist.
A young conspiracy theorist named Lindsey Adaway purchases the head, and Afton sees this as an opportunity to continue what he started with a brand new protegee. She’s able to transfer his consciousness out of the head and into some old circuit boards she also bought from the auction. They form the plan to get his consciousness involved with the project.
Lindsey sends the corrupted boards under the guise of her being a client with new content for the games files.
Glitchtrap starts appearing
Jeremy notices the appearances and tries to let Dale know about it. Dale being Dale, doesn’t listen. Work continues as scheduled.
Afton zeros in on Vanessa, seeing her as a weak mark and easy way in. Begins manipulating her.
2025:
Things start steadily going wrong as the appearance of Glitchtrap persists.
Jeremy’s (on a side note why are there so many Jeremys) nightmares begin
Game progress slows; Fazbear Entertainment (and Dale) are getting antsy
Nightmares worsening, Jeremy tries killing himself with the paper shredder (it’s implied. I think)
Nikki takes over testing; learns about the coverup
Nikki notices Glitchtrap and begins documenting her findings and hiding them within the game’s code; Glitchtrap attaches itself to the tapes
Nikki tries to destroy him, but can only manage breaking him apart for a bit.
2026:
Testing moves on, Vanessa takes over Nikki’s position and sets Glitchtrap (Afton) free when she assembles the tapes. Creates her Vanny persona.
Game files become corrupted, the project is dropped.
Afton becomes nervous that Vanessa might not be fully willing to commit, and turns to Lindsey as a backup plan.
2030:
One last ditch effort by Fazbear Entertainment to distance themselves from their bad history, they pour all of their remaining funds and open up the Pizzaplex with (mostly) new characters.
Vanessa begins work as a security guard
Children begin to vanish.
Abria, who did not move on, and has been monitoring everything, tries communicating with Vanessa in attempts to sway her back in the right direction but to seemingly no avail
Things continue to go wrong, but the place shows no signs of closing.
Efforts to resurrect Afton begin
Michael and Henry return to assist Abria
2035:
Gregory sneaks in, bunkering down in kids cove and living in there for some amount of time.
More kids vanish
During a show, Freddy malfunctions and shuts down. Gregory, who has been evading Vanny for a bit by this point, hides inside the robot. Events of Security Breach transpire.
Henry and Michael take turns assisting Gregory under the guise of Glamrock Freddy, Abria wanders around unseen for the most part, monitoring Afton’s revival, and occasionally taking control of the newly rebuilt Glamrock Bonnie
Place burns to the ground, Gregory, Freddy, and a newly redeemed Vanessa leave the Pizzaplex. (I don’t care that it’s not the canon ending it’s canon to me)
Fazbear Entertainment officially goes bankrupt and (FINALLY) shuts its doors. For good this time. Probably shouldn’t have pooled your remaining funds into this giant mall.
Lindsey and Afton watch the destruction, upset over Vanessa’s betrayal, and beginning to plan the next step. Lindsey suddenly turns on Afton, ripping apart the toy plush he’s been confined to and destroying the computer chip holding his consciousness. She goes off to commit her copycat crimes in peace.
Abria, though reluctant to go on with Lindsey still out there, even though Afton is, finally gone for real this time (I don’t care if more games come out he is dead to me and I am tired) Michael and Henry return to tell her there's nothing more that can be done, and lead her off to a peaceful afterlife
I posted this on instagram months ago, and I WAS gonna make these into actual animatic boards buuttt I decided to just clean up the thumbnails and go with that sooo take this moment a few weeks after the (second) missing children incident between my oc Abria and Afton :)
Michael finds one of the old commercials uploaded on YouTube in 2020 and he looks at the comments and someone time stamps where he’s on screen and goes “why is the guy at 0:23 kind of…” another person replies “that’s a literal minor” to which the original person replies “I’m sorry I’m 14 and I have trauma from a discord server I was in” and then they reply “that’s not an excuse you need to get off the Internet and reflect on your behavior” (the other person is also 14). A separate thread begins with “why is the guy at 0:23 literally Eddie Munson from Stranger Things- 😭” Another comment says “is it just me or is the way the comments are talking about this whole thing kind of problematic…” Mike’s gen x brain is about to explode.
This year (2025) in the FNAF universe you’d see a tweet with 20k likes that says “remember in 2020 when people were hyperfixating on the murders of children at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza and saying they couldn’t help it because you can’t control hyperfixations? 😭” the replies would be like “I literally got called ableist when I pointed this out 💀”
I neeeeed more charming and well liked William characterisation chat
There has been better influxes of it nowadays but lord how much I ADORE that William characterisation !! Him being very suave, persuasive and good at being friendly is such a fun concept to me, because it would make it so much easier for him to slide by with his killings + gain the trust of people
He gets arrested? He charms the police and people by talking in a manner that screams ‘he can’t be a killer, he’s too nice for that!’ And makes him get out of such charges easier. His words and persuasive way of speaking convinces Henry to go ruin Edwin’s whole life, his friendly way of speaking in the SpringBonnie costume helps the kids trust him easier etc etc
SPEAKING OF, he and Henry 100% performed as SpringBonnie n Fredbear, I need him to be ABSOLUTELY CONVINCINGLY nice and friendly to the missing kids who are like ‘I know SpringBonnie, he’s not a stranger I can listen to him!’ when SpringBonnie tells you to follow you in the backrooms.
I neeed more charmer and dramatic William, I also need eccentric William behind the scenes when it comes to experiments. ‘BEHOLD, MY CREATION!!’ Points to an animatronic probably possessed by a dead kid
Rrrrhrhrgrgrgrgr I need silly William stat, but that’s jst my opinion. I like my killers with ✨whimsy✨
I don't think my mind could handle adding anything having to do with secret of the mimic to this au, but I will happily watch people play the game nonetheless.
Perhaps if I was still 15 years old and had the energy I could have made it work, but not now lol.
Y'know, the more I think about it, the more I wonder if after seeing so many ocs that were made to be in love with Afton made me subconsciously respond by crafting an oc who fucking despises him.
Looking at these pictures and thinking back to that time, I do have to wonder if he really loved her. I would like to think he did, as happy as he made her.
