Do you ever fall in love with your favorite band all over again? Sometimes I forget how much the music means to me, and then at random times it will hit me and I’ll get the same feeling in my chest I felt years ago when I first heard them. It’s one of my favorite feelings in the entire world.
“I didn’t start publishing Pennsylvania’s Orange Street News so that people would think I’m cute. I want to get the truth to people, even if it makes grownups mad,” says 9-year-old Hilde Kate Lysiak, publisher of and reporter for the Orange Street News.
After reporting on a suspected homicide in Selinsgrove, Pa., Hilde was harassed by “disgusted” adults commenting on her site, saying her time would be better spent at tea parties and playing with dolls.
Hilde has something to say, and she takes no prisoners, firing back at her aging critics, with a video and in her column for the Guardian.

me: its me. its us. its humanity, stripped. this is our true nakedness- we are painted with stars and consumed by the cosmos, only to come back again brighter than before. my heart is the sun and my soul is the void.

Daniel Radcliffe & Adam Driver in What If (2014)
In any story, the villain is the catalyst. The hero’s not a person who will bend the rules or show the cracks in his armor. He’s one-dimensional intentionally, but the villain is the person who owns up to what he is and stands by it.

“We made the short and the feature in response to a bunch of romantic comedies that were about unplanned pregnancy and ended in childbirth,” she explains. “I liked Knocked Up a lot, and I liked Juno and Waitress. But they are the reason why we made this movie as a reaction. I enjoyed watching them, but it didn’t ring true to me.”
The choice to terminate a pregnancy is rarely shown anywhere in our culture, she continues: “Especially in movies, they never let the woman make the other choice — or even say the word ‘abortion.’” (x)
