being a kid and hearing adults say stuff like "woah 2011 was 4 years ago haha" didn't really convey the fucking horror of a youtube video crossing my recommended labelled "9 years ago" and it's from 2017. that's not true. 9 years ago is 2010 or something. don't lie.
I looove when food is in a bowl. Frequently plates are being brought out and I'm thinking this could've been a bowl meal but nobody gets it
i freaking broke my ankle two weeks ago, had surgery a week ago, and i’m confined to the bed bc of elevation. i’m so tired and restless at the same time
you have to be careful reading too many things that are good/smart/well-written bc then you encounter something that isnt and you get confused like ? why didnt they just make this good ? were they stupid
need a polite way to say "im not engaging in a discussion on this topic with you because the conclusions you have reached are based on so many interwoven layers of misconceptions it would be easier to just like, hard reset your whole brain, just start over as a baby and try again"

dumbass son of poseidon always wrong about everything
they literally love him
the way this is framed isn't really all that serious but percy's line of thought being "if no one here will love me then maybe I'll have to make them fear me instead" is honestly very sad (obviously a survival tactic and not a genuine desire to be cold and intimidating). it's very comparable to his early beginnings at camp half blood in tlt where he got exposed as a son of poseidon + slated to lead the quest and was immediately ostracized by the entire camp as a result. in fact there's even this line in tlt that's not quite the same but probably stems from the same part of percy that hates being an outsider more than anything else
After seing several dozen tiktoks saying stuff like "Percy gave up godhood/ immortality for Annbeth" or "Annabeth is the main reason why Percy gave up godhood", I am eternally grateful for the existence of this segment from "Demigods and Magicians":
"Zeus offered me a reward: godhood. I turned him down flat. I wanted justice for other demigods instead. I wanted the gods to stop being jerks and to pay attention to their kids." (The Crown of Ptolemy)
Thank you "Crown of Ptolemy"
I truly don't understand how many people misread / don't understand this scene.
i think in that scene, there was a line that said that percy looked at annabeth, and they took it as percy giving up immortality for annabeth. he looked at annabeth when he was given that offer of godhood, but he was thinking about luke and the other demigod children who went to kronos.
HEAR ME OUT! Percy Jackson as a love god; more specifically, as a god of faithful love (not to be confused with his sonetimes-brother Anteros as a god of requited love). This love can come romantically, platonically, familial, or just love of a concept (humanity, a passion, animals, you name it)
It's the love that empowers bravery and the willingness to sacrifice for others. It's the love that gives hope for a better future, if you're willing to work for it. It's the love that will let a person fall into hell for their loved ones. It's the love that causes a demigod to willingly take on an entire prophecy to protect his younger cousin.
Because face it, Percy Jackson is made of love. From the very first book where his main concern when fighting the Chimera were the innocent people around them to the SOM where he became protective of Clarisse the moment he noticed her looking truly nervous around her dad. It's love when looks out for Thalia even when they first didn't get along on the quest. It's love when he keeps searching for Nico and keeping his parentage a secret. It's love when he refuses to leave Nico behind even after Hera guaranteed him and his quest mates safety. It's love when he respects the nymph enough as a person that even the thought of him using his status as a son of Poseidon to strong-arm her into using her river makes him feel bad. It's love when he leaves Calypso's Island and it's love when he grieves that he couldn't remember everyone's names who were lost in the battle at camp. It's love that warns the enemy demigods to get off the boat he and Beckendorf were going to blow up and it's love when he welcomes them back into camp after the war. And most importantly, it's love for the demigods that cause him to turn down immortality in exchange for a better system.
And if you need further convincing, here's an excerpt of Percy's first meeting with Aphrodite in TTC:
"She really was beautiful, and not just because she had a pretty face"
The simple fact is that Aphrodite's appreciation and zeal for love made her seem more beautiful in Percy's eyes. And even if you can claim that he is partially influenced by the goddess, the fact that he uses the word "giddy" when describing his feelings is very telling.
This is from the online Merriam Webster's dictionary. Let's use the synonym/definition instead:
"[Aphrodite] believed in love so much, it was impossible not to feel euphoric when she talked about it."
Because someone who scorns love, or even doesn't fully respect it, wouldn't be using those adjectives.
Any thoughts? @cynthiav06 @helenofsparta2 @virtualflowerbatathlete @fate-of-the-envious
I love this so much! And to add onto Percy being the god of faithful love, I would add how he is loyal to a fault. So much so that his fatal point when he takes on the Curse of Achilles is on his back. It's to the point where his weak point would literally mean being stabbed in the back, where someone who he trusts and he will turn his back to in faith, will be the one to kill him.
Percy Jackson was made from love. We know from the books that Poseidon and Sally loved ones another in their own way. Poseidon offered her a palace under the seas. And he respected when Sally said no, because she wanted to pave her own way. However, she and the with Percy always returned to where that love was born. Like the tides kissing the shore, the ocean always accepts them back.
Percy is one he establishes such loyalty, such faith, in friend and foe alike. Ethan, who wanted nothing less than the proper respect for his mother and too all minor gods and their children, in the end trusted Percy to fulfill his wish.
Luke, who in the end, after realizing that he broke his promise to Annabeth turns to Percy now to keep his promise to the demigods and make the gods do better. This faith which was built because Percy Jackson is loved. Yes, he is powerful and a great strategist, but what makes Percy so great and shining is his heart. He is inherently kind and just good that gods, monsters, and people are drawn to him. The have faith in his abilities, whether that is to tear his enemies apart or to do the unimaginable BECAUSE he is doing it for those he loves, and know that nothing will stop him when his home, his family, are threatened.
hiii blue! how's your week going?
heyyy piii! it’s been going alright :) my new quarter started so slowly getting busy
how’s your week going? :))
sir, that’s my emotional support imaginary world
Just because you did something wrong in the past doesn’t mean you can’t advocate against it now. It doesn’t make you a hypocrite. You just grew. Don’t let people use your past to invalidate your current mindset.
Bruh. This needs to be a mandatory post on everybody’s blog. Y'all really be pullin out decade old receipts like woah.
Either you want people to grow and change or you want people to stay evil villains so you can feel superior as you shame them.
OMG BLUE I LOVE PJO TOOOO DID U READ THE WRATH OF THE TRIPLE GODDESS
-pi
HIIIII i haven’t read it yet but i’m not fully sure if i want to with the bits i’ve seen around :(
do you know what I fucking hate?
How camp half blood treated Percy versus how they treated Thalia. Like seriously. Percy gets claimed and everyone is fucking terrified of this TWELVE YEAR OLD KID. He has NO FRIENDS (except for Annabeth, Luke and grover, two of which were using him, the other it was literally his job to be there.)
He wasn't told anything and Chiron didn't trust him. Thalia shows up and everyone's like 'oH sHe'S So cOoL'
Like what the actual fuck?
People forget that Percy was the looser outcast
I think that's why he feels so protective of Nico. He's sees a twelve year old who has no fucking clue what's going on and everyone is either disgusted or terrified of him. He's sees himself in him.
Okay I'm done ranting now.
By loves xx
