Gillette spits in the face of all men in the world while calling it “positive message”
The other day I saw a video called “We believe: the best man can get” made by Gillette. I was shocked. I could not believe my eyes. The only thing I could say is “Really?... Are you kidding me Gillette?”. But then I took a deep breath and watched it again. Here are the things that this video is filled with:
- This video is sexist. All men are shown there as lustful, agressive, primitive animals. It’s kind of insulting to get such message from the company that get most of their bread and butter from men.
- This video generalizing men as evil, violent and randy creatures. I understand that they wanted to highlight the problem of violence and bullying. But if you want to do that, name exactly who is guilty in those flaws or shut up. Dont put all men at the same shelf with maniact and rapists. (FYI Gillette - women are also committing crimes - did you forget to mention this in your video?)
Have you noticed - if you will ever generalise women, nation, religion or some social group of people, you will immidiately get tons of dislikes and comments like “Don’t you dare to generalise!!! Not all of us are like that”. Well thats exactly the things that Gillette did - it generalised all men as violent garbage.
- This video is racist. Look closer - all evil characters are white males. And again “Really?? Really Gillette? Did you go that far?”
- This video contains a message “Men need to hold other men accountable”. What the actual... damn is that supposed to mean? The law and the common sense are the ones that hold all men and women (exactly like that - not only men but women as well) accountable. Again - this is a clear message that Gillette tried to pass - “men are evil, men are dangerous. They should be held in cages and fed from the pole by more accountable personel”. And that is what you call “positive message”? I wonder how “negative message” would look like.
They call all this disaster a “Fight against toxic masculinity”. I want to ask - what is so dangerous about masculinity and why is it “toxic”? Gillette is an American company - if first pioneers would not be masculine, your country would not even exist. If men would not be masculine they would bever be able to protect you from any kind of danger. If men would not be masculine there would never be any progress at all. All you boys and girls are sitting on the shoulders of masculine men, using their achievements and dictating them not to be masculine - it is as pathetic as Gillette deleting the negative comments from YouTube.
So what do we have in the end? Misandric, racist, generalising, man-shaming video made by company, which thinks that they are qualified enough to dictate how people should live. I would suggest Gillette to concentrate on quality of their products, and review their personnel policy in marketing division.
