Soisci’s Open Movements Workshop Part 2
This is Socisci’s second workshop, she came last year in July and I must say it was an awesome two-day event. I had definite plans on bringing her back and here it is again I'm sure this event will be even better. Click the link to see my blog of her first time teaching a workshop in Bangkok, Thailand.
Open Movements Workshop Description
Two full days exploring different movement qualities and elements with Soisci. This workshop will explore:
Coordination and rhythm (2 crucial and often overlooked/ misunderstood elements for moving well in sport and throughout life).
Mobility in motion- not isolation.
Stretching as neurological food for thought.
Letting go of inhibitions; enjoying creativity and self-exploration.
Injuries and why they happen.
Balance work.
Developing comfort with irregular patterns.
Visiting different types of physical strength.
Spatial awareness.
Internal awareness.
Breathing.
Feet and joint health.
Martial work to train adaptability and most movement qualities.
Preparing for graceful aging- what is useful, what is enjoyable?
Learning through play (as children, animals, and athletes do); Play, play play.
Anyone is welcome to join; there are no prerequisites or levels of physical skill/ condition. The only expectation is that you arrive open-minded and prepared to give your best (so that you and everyone can get the best). This will be Soisci’s second time teaching in Thailand, don’t miss out on this rare opportunity!
Who is Soisci?
Soisci is the founder of Human Patterns; a Sydney based movement coach with 15 years of martial arts practice (a former Muay Thai world champion), and seven years of teaching experience. Her material is an amalgamation of her past and present experiences with her teachers, and her own creative research. She spent four years immersed in the Ido Portal Method (where some of the basic material shared stems from) and is presently very strongly influenced and inspired by the Fighting Monkey Practice, whom she is studying under.
