Couple things worth noting:

just how much of "ai art" is just pornographic crap. Like, mate, just grab a pencil, dicks and boobs are probably THE EASIEST body parts to draw.

The communities for "ai art" are infested by bots. These guys put the same amount of effort into moderation that they put into their "art"

The subjects appear to have lost all sense of fact checking, there was an ai generated picture of a black orchid – litterally, just an orchid – being shared as a black bat flower (aka tacca chantrieri) a quick search will show you, the two don't reseble eachother beyond both being flowers

i think it's so interesting how many layers there are to the dark magic argument. because the most obvious one is that it's inhumane, it's murder, it's anti-vegan, but so often that isn't the case; it's not always stepping on a butterfly, it's a finding a piece of hair or a piece of something that was already long dead. but there's also the other side of ethics which is that it's a shortcut and even if it isn't technically causing harm it's still fundamentally wrong. and the way harrow puts it: it always comes back around. there's just something about it that poisons everything it creates and there's some kind of karma attached to it. idk

Hey, just a note: if you're putting out conlanging materials, there is no reason to use AI images to illustrate them. Grammar materials don't need illustrations. I promise you the people who are into conlangs will be attracted to your declension tables more.

If you have the chops for making art yourself, that's cool. But using AI illustrations ends up looking worse than just having nothing.
