this morning my friend texted me and asked if he had left a belonging of his in my car. i was half asleep and was trying to text him “idk i haven’t checked”, “i’m going to be late”, and “i’m still in bed”. in my head i thought i did just that but i actually typed this

it’s not even that funny, but i haven’t been able to stop laughing every time i think about it. he and my partner spent 10 minutes trying to decode this message and were unsuccessful until i finally showed up, completely unaware that i had texted him something completely incomprehensible without even answering his question

A good chunk of friendship is just looking after someone else's good like you would your own. Like you see that the grocery store has a discount on that gross thing that Nobody Else But Your One Friend In Particular even likes, and you know that they fucking love those things, so you message them like "hey you like these things, do you want some? You can pay me back later" and they immediately send you the money like "holy shit buy all of them" because you remembered they like those things.

When I went to see my friends for the pride thing last weekend, we went out to eat before that and while we were talking about stuff while waiting for our bill, one of my friends who carries a whole medical bay in their bag took out one of those nice glass-cleaning wet wipes and started cleaning their glasses with it. Focused on the conversation I didn't pay much attention to it but the next time I looked at their direction I noticed them putting away glasses with a different glasses chain (they have like 35 of them, to match every outfit)

And I thought "hold on, how the fuck do they have the same kind of glasses chain pendants as I do? I made those out of earrings I found from goodwill!" until I realised that no wait those are my sunglasses. They just cleaned them out too since my glasses were right next to their elbow on the table and they had the glasses cleaning stuff out. Didn't ask whether I'd want them to do that as a favour, just casually took care of my shit too since it was conveniently there, just the same as they take care of their own things.

I run into people on the internet who seem to assume that everyone secretly wants to live a rural life as a farmer and at a certain point I’m like okay man if you believe that so hard why aren’t you getting a degree in agriculture or something?

Or are you just staring at solar punk and cottage core drawings and yearning after a reality that will never exist

i had a dream last night that the entire world used a currency (?) called angrypennies which as the name implies are obtained by experiencing anger. the stronger and more intense your anger was, the more angrypennies you'd gain. an all-consuming rage would earn you more than a slight irritation, etc. so people were always searching for ways to fuel their anger and purposefully keeping themselves angry all the time because they wanted to earn angrypennies. unclear if angrypennies could be exchanged for goods and services, or if they were just a collectible.

anyway, as if this wasn't heavy-handed enough, at one point british comedian greg davies appeared and explained that angrypennies couldn't be worth feeling angry all the time. this was a real revelation to dream-me and i was finally able to break free of the angrypenny grind and allow myself to experience emotions other than anger.
