A thought occurred to me, I've been testing out writing smut and I've asked women for input. I just realized how creepy it sounds because I think people are assuming I'm cishet. And a clueless/gross one. I might have to start preface my questions to women with mentioning that I'm gay.

I also write gay and NB smut too. I want to be versatile. So, sorry to anyone I creeped out. I didn't mean to.

Sometimes I get an idea for a story and very quickly it becomes intricate. Then I try to tell someone about it and suddenly I've forgotten how to speak English. And when you give the boiled down summary it sounds unoriginal and boring. Now I have to write a whole long story for anyone to understand and it gets tossed onto the big pile of "I'll write it when I'm caught up with the other stories I'm currently working on."

People talk about writers having weird searches histories, so I looked through mine and it didn't disappoint. This is in order by time. Nothing in between them aside from personal searches.

Just got a bot comment on ao3. The one that invites you to discord because they want to wants to help bring my oc to life. And part of me knows to delete it, but at the end of the comment it say, verbatim, "Typee...Normal.." and I'm dying because it's like one of those character scenes where they're trying to act nonchalant and failing miserably.

The bot to itself: "Come on, you got this. Just remember to type like a normal person and they won't know the difference." Awkwardly adjusting its arm as it tries to lean against the wall like the cool kids do.

I'm doing that thing where a few days ago I was doing great and everything felt so natural. But now, even though I know what's going to happen, I'm writing sentences like, "parson a spots person b seated at a far table [body language.] Even connecting with the characters is struggle. There's no emotion in the dialouge. I've got the energy to do anything else, but not the wip I should be working on.

Who knew that daydreaming can be hard.

I don't know if it's the 'tism, but I don't understand the "everything is the same, except [detail]." Like, everything is the same but this character has a different hair color. My brain is like, "Okay. No one's hair colour is brought up so yes, nothing else would change but I don't understand what's humorous or entertaining about it." Then there's versions where two characters are married. My brain says, "That is impossible because that relationship would fundamentally change everything in the story." And I once asked some questions about a post like that, meaning to be a little funny and was flat out told, "No, nothing else changes." I let it go because not everyone finds the same things funny, but WHY THEN?!

I'm learning how to write smut on ao3 and I have a question for women readers. What do you hate to see in a smut fic that kills it for you? This can be tropes, language, misunderstanding of female anatomy, anything. I want to get better at it. So what gives you the ick? Don't feel the need to be polite. Be brutal.

I write Bungou Stray Dogs fanfic and I'm wondering how much people enjoy slipping in things from the canon characters. Like, Chuuya clicking his tongue (in moderation). And I don't think they call each other slug or mackerel or slug in the english dub of the anime, but I still see it in fics. If you do enjoy it, what kind of canon references do you like to see?

Wrote a new smut in my one shooters series on ao3. Graphic, a little angsty. I'm trying to improve on the dirty stuff. It's Bungou Stray Dogs fandom and a male reader insert. I've been experimenting with writing smut and have been reading other peoples works and I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this issue. When I read other smuts, sometimes they describe things that I have never encountered. Some of it is niche genre, some of it is people who've clearly never had sex before. But there are some things that feel consistent in other works that I've never run into, have never had to do a specific part of the process, sensations I'm not familiar with. Like, am I the weirdo in the room?

I've seen people discussing first person vs second person and I can understand why people would prefer first person when writing a xreader or reader insert. Some would read it as though the narration is their own thoughts. But the official definition is that first person is the narrator speaking. I am telling you a story about me. Second person is I'm telling a story about you. In second person the author usually differentiates between narrator and the reader, using italics is a popular choice. Almost all people know how to read but reading comprehension is a skill that can be developed and refined. It's often misunderstood that reading comprehension and literacy are the same but they are not. If you don't believe me, look it up for yourself (not sarcasm, just advice). I recommend you do that for anything that challenges your perspective. I would rather learn that I'm incorrect than assuming I am correct and making the same mistake repeatedly. Sorry for the rant. I feel strongly about resolving disagreements clearly and without building frustration.

I have found my own way to reconcile the disturbing nature of the Tanizaki siblings relationship. I choose to believe that they are not blood related. I think that Naomi is super kinky and has a big brother fetish. Understandingly, Junichiro is really embarrassed by her behavior and he constantly begs her to leave it in the bedroom. But again, Naomi is kinky and also gets off on embarrassing him. But he loves her and doesn't kink shame. For bonus points: she's not really in high school, she just likes wearing the uniform and telling people she's a teenager. They actually met in college.

Edit: Just read vol. 26. Naomi's real family? I fucking knew it.

In my head, Chuuya is one of those guys who doesn’t like making a big deal out of his birthday. No one can get him gifts without pissing him off, so to avoid property or collateral damage, the other mafia members have to trick him into accepting them without him noticing. Instead of getting him a birthday coffee, Kyoyou buys coffee for everyone so his won't stand out. Mori sends him to shakedown a liquor store and has it arranged for the owner to insist on taking a couple bottles of wine. Akutagawa makes the guy that Chuuya finds annoying dissappear.

I've noticed that some of the time Chuuya’s choker is just a plain black band and other times it has a buckle. Do you think he has multiple chokers. Or just the one choker and throughout the day, the choker shifts a little until the buckle is in the back?

I can't survive with only a handful of books on my nightstand. I sometimes think about putting a bookshelf on the other side of my bed so that my favorites are always within arms reach. I feel like getting up, crossing the room, and having to decide what's the most important every night is an unreasonable ask.
