Regardless of what I may do, I am a walking porcelain mannequin And as the damage seeps in And the cracks show through I repair myself with the gold I'm given The experiences made worth livin. Yet the chasms continues to spread The shards fall off, the heart of glass Bare in the light it shows a crimson red. And as lightly as I may tread, Heavy are the steps as the heart is hollow The sounds of my footsteps echo Alone in this darkened hall This world that I give my all. I move forward with my shambling steps Whispering to myself that this isn't hell Things could be worse, the isolation real Convince myself that I am not what I feel I am not just a soft shadowed voice An ignored and invisible noise I am not just a step in a gust of wind Without trace, without existence, destroyed. Though I've been set fire, I've come out stronger Yet fragile and frail, I am firm in my belief In my resolve to love those who've fallen to pieces. It may not be returned and the pain etches onto my surface But in front of the kiln, if I am able to help them rebuild Fill in the emptiness with the gold from my soul. I will. Because I am just a porcelain mannequin. Shattered and broken. I battle myself, when I say, "I don't mean a thing." So use my pieces, use my soul. Tear the core, if it means yours starts beating.
