I write every character with nuance to the best of my ability. Even if they’re a favorite (eg: four) I do not ignore or water down their actions, I simply depict an interesting explanation without excusal. i love morally gray characters!!!!

that aside! welcome back everyone this blog is finally gonna pick up again now that art fight isnt floating ominously in the background .. this is technically posting a backlog, I hope u guys don't mind!
sunspots (particularly penumbra, which is the bit focusing on three and four) is one of my favorite things ever lately. putting them in a situation
ohyea now that af is over i can say properly thank u all sm for all the attacks on me this year qwq i was NOT expecting it and im so honored . even if i got burnt out pretty quick and couldn’t revenge all of them, I hope yall still get lots of art in the coming year :]
IM SO GLAD YOU (and. several others who i forgot to answer. sorry) asked! ive made a couple posts poorly detailing it im sure they’re on my blog somewhere but i should give it and the cast a proper explanation. Ok
ahehem.
sunspots was born from a very lighthearted half-roleplay conversation in a friends server that turned into. a full one.
SMALL CHARACTER TIDBITS:
- every algebralien has a unique animal associated with them; two is a snake, x is a mouse, four was a bunny, three is a border collie, one r is a cat, and one e is a goose! one (the original one) had a condition called ‘chimerism’ — chimeras have multiple animal attributes which also leads to genetic deformities, such as one’s lack of arms. i can’t say anything more about the original one without omitting spoilers* for the rest of the cast sorryyy
*in sunspots, we play on “teams” which i’ll get into later. the two teams hide story bits from eachother to reveal them in sessions like battle moves
- the characters also all have space motifs they’re intrinsically linked to. two is the sun, the onelings are the moon, x is a star, and aquaball is the earth. Four/kernel and three dont have any but i named them crashing tides and soaring comet in the original series concept so do with that what you will
- There are shipnames. ok enough of that these are kind of useless
MAIN PLOT:
before sunspots’s canon took place, around the split, four placed a curse upon two out of hurt and anger for stealing his show. the curse was simply meant to make two a bad host, but it had… undesired effects. now it wasn’t two hosting that was the problem, it was two, in their power, being Downright Evil. by the time our inciting incident happens, their contestants have long since begun to abandon them. even gaty
all of this reaches a boiling point when two has a confrontation with one (e) and the strange object she works with. this, along with the introduction of Another one (r), ends in two’s inevitable death at the hands of aforementioned object, aquaball.
in the wake of their demise, two convinces x, a witness, to let them take control of his body, have a place to hide, keep the show going forever. a variable can equal anything, after all! the other three realized shit is fucked and flee to mars, forming a ragtag group known as the suncatchers!
x — now known as 2x — has become two’s willing vessel. and two wants revenge.
and. a bunch of sessions happened after that but thats our premiseOMFG AND X EATS THEIR DEAD BODY WHATEVER MINDY
OUR CAST:
- ONE E; the closest to our canon one in literally every aspect besides being evil. one e is the half of one that embodies her curiosity, intelligence, caution, and her desire for connection with others. she follows a strict moral code, believing everything she does must be just and right (but can’t handle being told she’s wrong…). this often leads her to making no action instead of the “wrong” action. before the events of sunspots, she was making deals and spying and all that good stuff. and she’s very close with aquaball, an object that sort of just wandered into her dimension one day… yeah theyre cute
- ONE R; this is the character i play! she is the POLAR opposite of one e and lacks most of canon one’s major gimmicks except for the planet exploding. which she loves doing. one r is the half of one that embodies her impulsivity and recklessness, anger, resentment, and isolation. one r has been causing absolute mayhem in space for a good long while now, to the point where she’s developed a god complex for it! she refers to one e strictly as “lesser one,” and has practically no respect for others. she’s theatrical, maniacal, a wholehearted villain… what else can she do?
(don’t tell her she’s on the hero team.)
- AQUABALL; a whimsical, energetic, and carefree object! the only object in a cast of magical aliens, mind you… aquaball was a huuuge bfdi fan, spying on the competition enough for her to notice the Other spy just a few bushes over. on the surface, ‘smart’ isn’t exactly what you’d call her— she’s distractable, and she has little sense of self preservation… but when you take a deeper look, aquaball is incredibly kind and emotionally attuned to those around her, adoring even the most heartless (see: one r). that being said, she’s also not afraid to stand up for herself or her friends (and, being an object, isn’t shy about violence sometimes)! and then we tortured her 500 times
- TWO; sly and manipulative, but arrogant and explosive- they’ve deteriorated over the years with the curse that was placed upon them. it was slow and gradual; two, once sweet, becoming such a heartless monster. to two, everyone has been nothing but cruel to them, so why not be cruel in turn? two lives for the stage … because when the lights go out, so do they. now the world is two’s audience, and in their new vessel, they will make sure this show never, ever, EVER ends.
- X/2x; was promised a place in the spotlight, a way to become more than what he was, just an accessory piece. x has never been much of a leader, but two swears to him that he could be — he is — something great, and powerful, something brilliant… well, only because two makes him that way. on the inside, the part that isn’t being hijacked, x wishes he could fight. he hates the terrible things that two does, that two makes HIM do; his sense of identity slips further out of his grasp every passing day. he wishes he listened to the warnings. he wishes he, not two, had enough power to fight back. we call him yellow mouse boy
side characters include the contestants union committee: the few remaining objects on the tpot grounds determined to figure out the truth (spearheaded by golf ball; includes bottle and teardrop), and one r’s throwaway alien trio that she kills later. lot of trios in sunspots huh
…oh riiight thats not even the whole cast. I BRING TO YOU…
PENUMBRA:
a story congruent with the events of sunspots, following three in the horrible aftermath of four’s death. which happens.
using x’s body, both for his power and out of rage and pain, two comes to deliver four’s karma, killing him and leaving him to rot on the kitchen floor. talk about edgy, huh?
four’s death led to a complete unraveling of the exit. it retreats to an empty void. landmarks that three once knew, the floor beneath her feet and the dark sky above her head are all slowly consumed by the all-powerful nothingness. three can only try her best to protect whatever’s left of her home — she uses her energy to keep a force field around the fourtress — and try to piece together what happened.
eventually, in one of her ventures, she meets what looks to be four but tiny … in actuality, that is his literal soul. the only tangible thing left of him. the ‘kernel’ if you will!
PENUMBRA’S CAST:
- THREE; gives me horrible stage fright when i try to play her. the apocalyptic state of it all has made her grow even more jaded, only having the sanctity of knowing that her cell is still safe. three is cautious, and calculative; she probably has a whole theory board or two in the fourtress somewhere. all of this being said, three isn’t entirely without her quirk, or even her kindness. those vulnerable are safe as long as they follow her lead.
- ‘KERNEL’; in essence, four’s life force, the key to ever recovering him, just short of being a real person. kernel thinks and acts like a small child, not retaining many of four’s memories, just … certain feelings, and fears. and before three found them, kernel was alone in a crumbling world, hurt and afraid. kernel wants to be responsible, live up to what they are. kernel wants to be worth something.
- THE FOURSE; it’s the fourse. it’s blue
there is a Lot of sunspots content and sessions but if i explained the plot if every single one of them i would be here all night and i think theyre all hanging out rn and i wanna join them . Thank u for asking jack and also everyone else

i think! everyone shouldbe able to draw fat people and people with tits out and people with lots of body hair and people unapologetically wearing whatever they want even if it doesn’t ‘fit their body type’ or ‘look good on them’ and it SHOULDN’T be marked as mature content or nsfw or suggestive because those are real bodies that people have and it fucking sucks when you grow up seeing the only reflections of you being labeled as perverted or sexual or somehow asking to be objectified just because you refuse to conform to purity culture and fatphobia and misogyny
i think every body is beautiful and fascinating and worth depicting and it is absolutely disgusting how normalized it is to either sexualize or try to ‘fix’ basic functions and features that people should be allowed to love about themselves just as loudly as everyone else
