BLACK LIVES MATTER - RAISE AWARENESS
On May 25, 2020, George Floyd was slowly and mercilessly killed by 4 Minneapolis police officers while being videotaped by concerned citizens begging them to stop. Floyd was surrounded and brutally dealt with by the police as Derek Chauvin’s knee pinned down his throat. Floyd kept screaming “I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe!” but they didn’t listen. He then became unresponsive but was continually choked until his nose began to bleed, and his lifeless body was shoved into a stretcher and into the back of an ambulance.
The officers involved have been fired and the FBI has been called to investigate. But we must do our part to ensure that George Floyd receives the justice he deserves. Please sign these petitions addressed to the FBI, The President, The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, The Minneapolis Police Department, & DA Mike Freeman. An email on your behalf will be sent to all of the above. The lawyer representing Floyd’s family is civil rights attorney Ben Crump urges us to call DA Mike Freeman (612-348-5550) and tell him to arrest and charge these officers for the Murder of George Floyd, I encourage you to do so.

“I could spend the rest of my life reading, just satisfying my curiosity.”
— Malcolm X (b. 19 May 1925)
Hi, guys! Lala here. We all know the importance of having a morning and night routine, but I haven’t seen a lot of people talking about having a study routine. So I wanted to share mine with you and hopefully you guys can get some value out of it.
Do you have a study routine too or want to share some tips? Share them with me!
April 8, 2020
It’s Week 2 of online spring quarter and it’s honestly not too terrible, but I miss my normal routine. I miss my walk to campus, I miss sitting in a crowded lecture room, and I miss being able to interact with classmates and professors in person, I miss my friends, I miss my apartment, and I miss my crazy-packed schedule. I’ve been catching up on sleep (literally catching up on three years of continuous sleep deprivation) and the change in pace has been nice, but I definitely miss the hustle of my regular routine
Everybody I know who is in a leadership position is scrambling right now to work out logistics of moving things online, which is beyond chaotic, but it’s nice that the challenge of figuring that all out is keeping my busy
Also I impulsively bought the new 2020 iPad Pro and it’s coming in the mail next week lol
40/100 • 21/04/2020 ❣️ how are you being taught your lessons? canvas and zoom, which is working pretty well for my classes. people seem more active in seminar discussion now than they were on the classroom, and i am infinitely less fatigued than i was when commuting.
to everyone who is losing things like concerts and senior proms and commencements and brunches they’d had planned forever and literally anything they’ve been looking forward to i’m sorry. i really am. it sucks and i’m sure there will be people in your life who will tell you to get over it because others have it worse right now and while it may be true that others have it worse that doesn’t make your pain, disappointment, or sadness any less real or valid. keep your head up.
Please circulate this: The French government (my country) has issued a warning against taking anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, Advil, cortisone) with covid-19 symptoms, as it may cause severe cases of the disease, even in young and middle aged adults with no underlying conditions.
my quick tips for working / studying from home
- get dressed and style your hair as if you’re going to school/work - even use the same perfume/ cologne as you normally do (trick your mind into being motivated)
- plan things out - everything (plan out your week, day, meal, etc. you can make these as specific as you’d like. this will help you stay on top of your work as well as stay healthy, especially if you live alone.)
- make studying/ working the first thing you do each day - best if you can start in the morning (minimize the tendency to procrastinate)
- just start - don’t worry too much about perfecting or finishing anything yet (if you don’t start then there’s nothing for you to perfect or get done. and it will never get done)
- listen to old and simple (aka non-distracting) podcasts, Youtube videos, or café/ chattering white-noise, etc. simply leave them as background noise to create an illusion of being outside your room (bring the presence of people to you. my favorites lately have been slam poems from 2016, Mae Martin’s stages, and Awsten Knight’s crackhead podcasts)
- set timers, for both study sessions and breaks (so that you don’t overwork, burn out, or procrastinate. the Pomodoro technique works great here)
- take advantage of the comfort of your own home (light a candle, have crunchy snacks, play loud music, review notes out loud while pacing around, wrap yourself in a blanket burrito, study on your bed if you can focus there like me, etc. basically anything you can’t do in a classroom, office, or the library)
- if you miss your friends, call/ text/ facetime them, make a study group chat with them, etc. (that is what technology is for)
- choose recreational activities/ self-care for your breaks instead of going on social media (go on walks, make small art, play an instrument, stretch, take a nap, etc. I usually reach for my guitar, brainstorm writing ideas, or sketch very simple line art.)
- if you want to go on social media, do it during meal times - or the 15 minutes after your meals that you can’t work just yet (it also doesn’t make you feel like you’re wasting time)
- study in different rooms for a change of scenery (dining room, living room, the patio, etc. I have an armchair next to the window that I study in whenever I need some sunlight and don’t have to write anything down. however, if you need a designated place to focus on your work, you can also use these alternative spaces as designated “relax” or “creative” place for your breaks)
- use this as an opportunity to take care of yourself (get enough sleep, drink water, exercise, talk to your family, take your meds, be mindful of your mental health, etc.)
Feel free to add your tips. The current situation sure is unpleasant but it is unavoidable. All we can really do now is take care of ourselves, others, and try to make the best out of this.
Good luck to everyone and stay safe! My heart is with you all 💕
in the past, i had to prepare for several exams by self-studying for long hours at home, so over the years i’ve learned the best ways to adapt to this situation, which i now present in this little infographic. i hope it can ease some of the pressure! 💜

Important for students moving online due to COVID-19!
Saturday, 18 January 2020
I might be late for posting this but here is my January monthly spread. I am using digital bullet journal that I created myself and named it KALM.
29/05/2018 Omg, today was such a long day. So yesterday I went to the Demi Lovato concert of the Tell me you love me tour (which was amazing btw!), but this morning I had a job interview. The timing was a bit off but oh well, I managed to get there fresh and on time. :) It was actually for a summer job at a law firm. I had the impression they had already promised this job to someone else…
So you know or you don’t know: my finals are right around the corner. I’m kinda disappointed I lost hours doing this job interview when I already have a feeling I didn’t get the job. Maybe I’ll regret the interview later on…
Anyways, after the job interview I did some quick shopping. Not for me actually, but I bought a relaxing serum and some tea for a friend who got sick.
Not only did I have a job interview, I also walked 10 kilometers and I cycled about 6 kilometers. And after that :’) I spent hours studying. I’m tired.
#day79 (Omg, day 100 is getting so close!!)

Studying at Waterstones cafe is probably my favourite thing!
I have an Instagram account for studying (x) but I wanted to make a tumblr so here I am!! I thought I’d just do a few quick facts about me to introduce myself:
- I study History, Politics and English Lit at A Level and I take my exams in May/June of this year.
- I live in Yorkshire in the U.K.
- I’ve applied to uni and hope to study history at the University of York.
- I love reading, my favourite author at the minute is probably Deborah Levy.
- Loveeee Harry Styles and apart from that my music taste is more 70s/80s 😂
- I also have a sims addiction which probably fuels most of my procrastination.
I hope you enjoy my posts! ❤️
