soft confidence ✧ marin kitagawa
I've recently watched my dress up darling, and one thing that stayed with me long after finishing it was Marin's confidence. Not the loud, untouchable kind, but the soft, genuine kind that feels human and attainable. Marin isn’t confident because she never doubts herself—she’s confident because she chooses to exist honestly, even when she’s insecure, or afraid of being judged.
In a world that constantly teaches girls to be smaller, quieter, and less expressive, Marin does the opposite. She loves what she loves without apology, feels her emotions openly, and takes up space in a way that feels warm rather than intimidating. Watching her made me realize that confidence doesn’t have to mean perfection or fearlessness—it can mean passion, vulnerability, and self-acceptance. She's made me realize I should be myself no matter what other people think, and it's way less embarrassing than you think once you take that one big step into being you.
