Flock of Geese flying in Sydney

I often run the origami workshops at Art Gallery of NSW and this year, they asked me to be a part of their staff charity exhibition. How wonderful!

So I created a new origami work, “Flock of Geese” The smallest geese was made from 3x3cm. There are 12 geese in the sky representing each month. Hope your next 12 months are the lucky months.

All the sales from the exhibition will be donated directly to Women’s and girls’ emergency centre in Redfern.

Opening on Thursday 18 Oct 6-8pm and the exhibition continue till Sunday 21 Oct. Everyone welcome.

My work, The Moon and Bunnies. Old Japanese and Chinese believed that Bunnies live on the moon. Someone told me that Indian also have the same story. Do you have the same tale in your country? World Rice Festival at Darling Harbour on 7-8 October 2017 There are many boothes from more than 20 councries at the festival. However I am sure for many people who can name “Sushi” for the food with rice!

I made origami boxes for beautiful temari sushi for Washoku Lovers. Demonstration of making sushi by the chef was very interesting, then followed by origami demonstration by me!

“Kubo and the two strings” - Universal Pictures new 3D kids movie about ORIGMI

I was at the preview screening of "Kubo and the two strings" at Hoyts Entertainment quarter in Moore Park. I did a short origami demonstration there. Kubo is a Japanese boy who plays shamisen (Japanese traditional musical instrument) and control origami like magic. It was good to meet many children who came and showed me their origami samurai hats.

Tanabata: Star village at Powerhouse museum, Sydney. 25 June - 17 July 2016 Visitors enjoyed origami, kirigami, weaving, story telling, writing wishes and making music. It was really a happy space for whole family.

I have met so many happy faces. Some people came 2 or 3 days during the school holidays! Happy folding~!!

Origami cherry blossoms project. Photos from my iPhone for the 5th anniversary charity event for 2011 Japan disaster. Big thanks to JCS rainbow project team! I started collecting the origami cherry blossoms for the event. Within 5 weeks, I had about 400 origami from more than 270 people because it wasn't only me collecting the origami. Thank you Yukiko-san, Emi-san, Yoko-san, Kyoko-san, Ritsuko-san, Takako-san, Ami-san, Naoko-san and many other people who participated the project and helped me collecting the origami for it. The origami cherry blossoms are representative of the beauty of Japan and of the people, and a symbol of hope and love. We fold each of them with a lot of love and sent our messages to people in Japan. I was very glad that many people stopped and took photos of the cherry blossoms in the Corso.

2016 Chinese New Year Festival in Rockdale, Sydney.
