This is day 2 of our Australia trip! We rented a car when we arrived on day 1 to venture out of Sydney as we waited for the rest of our friends to arrive a day later.
On this day, we visited the Hunter Valley Wine Region which is known for Semillon and Shiraz wines. This is an area that came as a surprise to me, not just because I’ve only heard of it recently, but Australia is somewhat absent from the international wine scene, especially when there is the Napa and Sonoma Valley Wine Regions, Burgundy and Bordeaux, and many others that easily overshadows this part of the wine making world. And, I’ve even read that most Australians have not even heard of the Hunter Valley Wine Region 🍇
The Hunter Valley vineyards are as grand as any other with inviting tasting salons. Asides from learning the type of wines produced here, but wineries consciously produce wine om small quantities which is the reason exports are minimal. Although, in TV shows such as the Wine Show (with Matthew Goode), Australia is being highlighted as a unique terroir. And in our exploration, I discovered that I love their wine 🍷
