I just. at the core of so many of kakashi’s neuroses and weirdness is the incredibly simple fact that for the majority of his life he has wanted to kill himself, and for even longer he has seen suicide as a complete non option bc of his dad. so for over a decade, he’s been going through the motions of a life that he does not want to be alive to live, and continually putting himself in situations that could plausibly end in his death without it being his fault. and the worst part is basically everyone in his life Knows this, but for years the only real thing they do to intervene is throw themselves on the sword for him instead, which does nothing but reinforce that this is what he’s one day destined for too, bc how else could he atone for what he has let happen.

the differences between the two leaves are interesting. madara’s leaf looks healthier and has a cleaner hole, while obito’s has a sicker color and more raggedy holes.

Obito’s plant leaf is a Fatsia Japonica, Paperplant! Or Fingerplant! Its native to Japan (not weed lmao) This plant is an evergreen, meaning it will remain green even in colder seasons, the plant will not release its leaves. Its symbolism means good fortune and good luck!

I do not for a 100% recognize a specific tree with the sort of leaf Madara is holding, but I SUSPECT it might be Beech! Beech are extremely sturdy and strong trees!
