I scroll the black swan tag on tumblr with the hope of finding gay fanart of nina and lily only to find out it has been completley nominated by girl bloggers saying they are like nina, girl shut up nobody cares i just want my yuri and you´re taking that away from me

So because I recently watched the vampire sisters I got curious and searched for Tim Oliver Schultz on the IMDB Database to see what other films he acted and one of them is called Die weiße Schlange (The white snake) which mind you only has one entire image of a scene of the movie where Tim appears (alongside another actress) and is this one-

So yeah, i guess whoever was in charge of the IMDB page for the white snake found this scene really important to add it there lol

I need people to understand that no matter if you ship Anderperry or not, Dead Poets Society does undeniably have queer undertones. You could take Todd out of the story entirely and it would still very much be queercoded. It's not just in him having a uniquely intimate friendship with Todd; it's thematically and, if you are open to the idea that acting is representative of anything other than itself-- narratively a queer story. Dead Poets Society is the resistance of the herd, the need to protect your truest self from a society that will look down upon it, the want for freedom from a society and family that does not accept you for who you are, the finding of similar community that will understand you in a way nobody else will, the shoving down of your truest emotions and most passionate parts of yourself to appeal to your family that rejects it, being unaccepted for who you are, being an outcast because something is uniquely different about you, redefining of the self so that you can be something real even if it costs you everything, etc. etc. Every theme, every lesson, and entire character arcs (particularly Neil and Charlie's) are applicable to queer stories and elements. This is SO important to me.

Neil's life and eventual death were never about Todd, they were about his father not letting him act. Acting is portrayed as this thing of absolute importance to Neil, this part of him that was-- for the record-- always there. "Ever since I can remember, I've wanted to try this. I even tried to go to summer stock auditions last year, but, of course, my father wouldn't let me. For the first time in my whole life I know what I wanna do. and for the first time I'm gonna do it whether my father wants me to or not! Carpe diem!"

The movie isn't him finding something cool and flashy and whining about not being able to have it that some people (cough, my mother, verbatim,) claim-- it's him finally taking for himself the thing that he's always seen, been attracted to. And the way the school treats it after Neil's death? The way his father sees it? The "No, not my son. Not Neil. Someone (Keating) must've put him up to this because no son of mine is an actor." That? That's very distinctly the response of parents to queer children. Not artists, not even the neurodivergent. Furthermore, the scene where Neil goes to Mr. Keating's room and says he's trapped-- right before that, we get introduced to the idea that Keating has a wife. During it, we see that Keating, though he cares about Neil and recognizes his struggles, does not understand them. I've said it just about a million times before to friends and mutuals but showing his wife right then is to show how he is an ally, not one like Neil. He's straight, he's an ally, but he does not get why Neil can't just wait and why him being rejected as an actor-- or gay-- is so important and why his father wouldn't be swayed even if (and when he eventually) sees how important this really is to him. Neil was gay. The movie is queercoded. Anderperry is not the only sign of that and is, really, simply the bit that further shows it. I'm sick of people looking past all of that.

I feel like the worst rn, it seems like I´m always making mistakes and hurting people, and even thou most of the time it´s not intentional i can´t help to feel bad about it because i still hurt them, and when i do mean something hurtful then i end up regretting it later but by then it´s already late and even if i apologize that is not enough, sometimes i feel like the only thing I´m good at is hurting others and always saying the worst in every situation, like no matter what i simply can´t do anything right and i hate that about myself and wonder if it would be better if i weren´t here at all instead

Ocean Waves not being a queer coming of age romance story is genuinely up there with Supernatural in terms of the bait.

No I swear cause this whole movie´s message could have only made sense if it was about a queer coming of age romance story where at the end Taku came to terms with his queer identity and realizes the fact he has actually loved Yutaka this whole time and not Rikako as he always tried to convince himself he did despite clearly disliking her since the start and he was just trying to fit into preconcieved notions of heternormativity, fully embracing his identity and finally confessing his feelings to Yutaka without caring much if he reciprocated or not cause the confession per se was already liberating enough and a way to finally let go of all those feelings of denial he had in the past and being honest with himself and Yutaka , a friendship that he holds very close to his heart and appreciates being part of his life over all the years they have been together.

This video essay basically says the same I wrote on this post but still i highly recommend to watch it if you haven´t as it goes into more detail of what i said here and it´s just an overall good video, even if you haven´t watched this film definitley give it a watch, I promise you won´t be dissapointed.

Oh to live in an alternate reality where the dead poets society short movie sequel was actually made and we got to see a grown up Todd Anderson being a teacher using all the knowledge he got from his experiences at Welton while having scenes where he remembers Neil so fondly and all he meant for him while hopefully meeting again with the rest of the boys and perhaps even Mr Keating one more time

Tom Schulman, please, make a novel with the idea you had going on for the sequel and my life will be eternally yours
