anyway you should always remember that all those foreigners you see dying on the news are just as real people as you are who have just as much interiority as you do. there is nothing about you that makes you more important and it is by pure chance that you are not in their position. in fact, this holds for all of history. every person, no matter the horror of the fate that befell them, had just as much interiority as you do. i feel like some people haven't fully internalized this.

In "TommyBoys," a colour photograph, two muscular figures in tracksuit pants sit on a tarmac. One, in a red T-shirt, sits with her hands folded against her chest, while next to her, the second uses her white vest to wipe something from her eyes. ("Tommy Boy" is a word used in South Africa, like "butch," to refer to a masculine-presenting lesbian.)

[New] Blvck Vrchives: An exploration of Home (Jacksonville, Florida) Part I.
One of the largest public housing developments in Jacksonville, Florida was demolished over 20 years ago yet the primary proof of our existence lies in memories and old snapshots. I have witnessed the erasure of my community and it is heartbreaking.
This post features an excerpt of the visual narrative that I curated using photographs from my family’s personal archive. We were here.

Develop a strong opinion of yourself so you don't end up internalizing the beliefs others have of you.
