So, after the "Great Food Fight of '14" I began questioning, any other similar incidents where something much more innocent and harmless in any other school ended up with broken tables and unconscious students?
Hey, I hate to be doing this on this ask, but I’m not answering in-character questions anymore. You guys have all been great, but to sum it up, the show has (always had) some seriously racist undertones that I just can’t ignore anymore. I go further in depth over here [x]. I’m leaving my inbox open in case anyone wants to have a deeper discussion about why I can’t support the show anymore, but past that…
I still love the versions of JNPR that live in my head, but this has been coming on for a while now. I started out watching the season on a pirate site, because I didn’t want to give RT my monetary support (for a number of reasons), but now I just don’t want to give the show any extra advertisement, period. I’m an American. So are the folks at RT. This racism plotline, with all its questions of ethics and the morality of resistance, is not theirs to tell – or, more specifically, not their questions to answer. and while that used to seem (to my white self, I admit that stuff might have been going over my head) like just awkwardly bad writing, at this point, with our country so torn apart that they can’t use the excuse of ignorance anymore, it is incredibly irresponsible to pull from real life the way they’re doing and a) attempt to answer questions about the “right” way to resist when the writing room is predominantly made up of white men, and b) make the main resistance group so evil. Sienna Khan was the closest they had to a medium between Adam’s bloody revolution stance and Blake’s peaceful protest only stance, and even she was willing to execute people for not falling in line with her rules. People are inevitably going to connect the White Fang to the Black Lives Matter movement, just because of the modern social parallels – so honestly, this ends up feeling like subtextual propaganda. The oppressed are gonna rise up and murder or enslave us all if we don’t keep them in check. Ghira even had a fucking line in episode 3 about how Adam was making it harder to condemn the humans’ hatred of them. Like, what kind of bullshit is that? Oppressive racism is always condemnable, no matter what the actions of individual members of the oppressed group. And, in fact, Adam’s behavior feeds right into the fears of white nationalists in our country right now. We have Nazis and white nationalists rallying openly on the streets chanting that they will not be replaced – essentially, that they refuse to be oppressed at the hands of their former slaves – which is not what’s actually happening, of course – but what do they have Adam, a prominent leader of the oppressed group’s resistance say? Expressly that – he wants to make the humans serve him. A further kick in the teeth is that they’ve taken white nationalist language – all that bullshit about a superior race — and put it in the mouth of that same oppressed resistance leader.
In the end, yeah, maybe it’s just a cartoon, but I don’t want to give any support to the type of people who would make that cartoon.
(This was the first ask I received since I announced I was leaving the fandom, so my thoughts just kind of spilled out onto it. I won’t apologize for any of what I said, but I will apologize for hijacking your question. To answer it, I’m sure Nora has broken a bed or two by jumping on it.)
I don’t know if people really knew that I also ran jnpr-isms, but.
Hello, oscar pine, right?
Oscar: Uh… yeah…?
Oscar: Why’s everyone so interested in me all of a sudden?
Well, I kinda need directions to mistral.
Oscar: Uh... sure. Where are you now?
Hello, oscar pine, right?
Oscar: Uh… yeah…?
Oscar: Why’s everyone so interested in me all of a sudden?
Oscar, can you drive?
Oscar: I can drive a tractor pretty well. I’ve only tried to drive a car once though, and… it was pretty bad. In my defense, that cow came out of nowhere.
Mercury: Maybe you shouldn’t have started driving in the cow pen.
Oscar: It was on the road… who are you?
Mercury: The name is Mercury. What about you?
Oscar: … *looks slowly up at blog title*
Oscar: I dunno, what do you think it is?
Mercury: You’re a pine tree named Oscar?
Oscar: Uh... yeah... sure...

Might be late, but , FACT? Also your blog is great! !
Oscar: This girl wouldn’t last one day on a farm. She’s got muscles the size of how much I enjoy having a random old guy in my head, and she burns like paper under the sun.
Send me “FACT” for one random fact about the mun as told by the muse [x]
Hi. You guys mostly know me as Yang-isms, but here you can call me Rami. Things at home have been less than ideal lately and my family is in some serious debt. We are needing to pay off property taxes on the house, the roof, a dryer, a washer, and a new car. With the goal set right now at $10,000...
Hi guys. You all may have noticed that I haven’t been very active lately? This is why. I’ve been scrambling to make some sort of ends meet at home, and it’s just not working anymore. We are over $20,000 in debt right now with no way to pay it all off. If we don’t, we might end up losing the house and the car.
I don’t want to ask for your help, but I sorely need it. Even just a dollar or two would mean the world to me. And even if you can’t donate, if you could reblog this, and spread it around I’d appreciate it.
So y’all might not know it, but the person behind this blog is like
one of the nicest people i have ever met in my entire freaking life
anyway if you guys could boost this around and drop off a donation if you can afford it that would be great
she deserves all the love and peace of mind, and not to lose her house and car, ‘cause she’s like
more caring and helpful and thoughtful than i would have thought humanly possible.
@professorozpin-isms, get out of my head!
… *metaphorically sips coffee*
I’m gonna drink nothing but tea from now on.
You wouldn’t dare
Oscar: *looks in the mirror, maintains eye contact, slowly raises tea cup*
Oscar: Try me.

I’m going to make a page for links to you guys.
So... did your grades go up with an ancient man inside your head? Oooor did your teachers just wanna send you to the looney bin?
Oscar: I mean, I wasn’t really in school before. I mostly just taught myself from books in my aunt’s house between chores. I’ll tell you what, though, it has made learning new things a lot easier. I just look up a fact and then I sort of… remember everything about it. It’s kinda creepy.
SO! Fifity thousand years ago I said I wanted tot do a comic based off this post
And finally it’s done! I thought it was a cute idea, sorry it took so long.
First time drawing any of these characters. Hope they came out okay!
My children. @oscar-isms @oscar-pine-isms !!! you will have all my love!!!!!!
What does that make me?
Oscar: The creepy grandpa I never asked for.
What does that make me?
Oscar: Uhh... I don't even know you.
