can’t get over david attenborough describing bluefin tuna as “streamlined to perfection” so do you have any cursed or blessed facts about these bad boys

it may seem strange to think this way about a fish, but bluefin tuna are absolute apex predators of the open ocean, as much as any shark! 

bluefin tuna are huge, highly-intelligent and blisteringly fast pack-hunters that travel in schools, always on the hunt for shoals of smaller fish!

when they find one, they proceed to murder the absolute shit out of it in bits and pieces by having each tuna take turns ripping through the shoal at 40+ miles per hour.

and let me tell you, however scary you think a 12+ foot-long bony fish is, it’s way scarier when one is coming at you at near-highway speeds with its mouth open.

Hyperfixations aren’t jus things ur obsessed with. They’re things u literally cant stop thinking abt. They’re things that u cant get out of ur head. Things that u literally crave content or knowledge abt. Things that u literally read every single wikipedia article or tv tropes page for. Things that will literally put u in a depressive episode if u dont get access to the thing. Its so so so much more than a simple interest or just liking something a lot.

It also feels physically painful and exhausting to some of us with ADHD *not* to have a hyperfixiation btw

Like, I will experience genuine distress if I’m between hyperfixiations. My life WILL NOT HAVE a definite enjoyable purpose, and even my special interests(as someone who is both autistic and ADHD) can rescue me sometimes

I was recently diagnosed with adhd and this post makes so much sense now. I can almost name off every hyperfixation I went through and everyone was just like “wow she really likes the thing”. I thought I was just sort of obsessed with things like Pokemon when it came out and Lord of the Rings and such because I NEEDED to have everything that even had the image of something from the franchise on it. There were boxes of fruit snacks I NEEDED because Pikachu was on it. I hate those things. I just cut out pikachu and added it to my collection of other images. I STILL have my binder of LOTR cutouts and ever Magazine the movies were ever mentioned in. I could go on but I wont, its late.
