I feel artfight is for me always a chance to step out a little of the usual stuff I do. Not just what I draw but also how. This time I tried to use a lineless style and I've to say I'm very pleased with the result.

I don't do this often but damn… I need to vent, or rather air some frustrations.

I now know for a fact that Germany will never create anything greater than the mp3-format considering the field of computer science. For context: I got myself an SSD card and had some trouble mounting/formatting it on my computer. Naturally I did some trouble shooting and then looked for something to help me. Tutorial, blogpost, or forum post. The usual stuff. I went to google the problem and found a forum post of someone who had the same problems I had. Happy to have found something promising I immediately read the post and the answers only to get the usual "German experience". At first people tried to help the poor dude but the moment he told those people it was his first time dealing with an SSD's that didn't mount on its own and he had dared to buy a cheaper model his problem turned into defuse background noise at best. People started to bully him. Called him stupid for committing the grave sin of having no experience and the audacity to not purchase a premium SSD for a few hundred Euro. And to top it all of in a neat little condescending bow, someone copied the manual of some SSD card which just described the usual steps of how to first mount the card (stuff like: insert the cable into the right port of your computer; double click on the image to open it; etc.) In the end OP didn't try to ask somewhere else or look for a different solution and just send his SSD back to the distributor. This isn't the first time I had the displeasure of having some hardware/software problems and finding only the most useless of forum posts made by some German snobs, gatekeeping what should be an open door in the first place. Sure I have also found plenty of english speaking pretentious morons but at least most of the time someone actually stays focused on the topic at hand and solves the problem. But not so much in the German speaking part of the internet no matter the topic. If you don't have some official paper saying you graduated in the field you've a question in: you know nothing, will never learn anything of worth (unless you get an official degree) and are worth nothing. And all questions you might have are those of an imbecile and unworthy of a proper answer if you let it slip you're a newbie. The only fascinating thing about those forum posts are the condescending tones and the ability those people have to insult others without using slurs. It's so frustrating!

Anyway, I thought about sharing my thoughts on this design again. I actually thought of Pikachu's fur to work like insulation, protecting the organs inside the chest as well as the brain from getting shocked itself when it uses an electric attack. That's why the cheeks are free of any fur and the tail and backend, which I headcanon to generate the electricity via muscles like an electric eel (back end/back) and amplify the charge (tail) by collecting ambient electricity.

Problem with Spam

What's the matter with the influx of those stupid "I have something important to tell you" spam/hacker comments?

Every time I post I get a ton of those and it's slowly grating on my nerves… It's weird, the accounts who post those comments are active and reblogging stuff, so I'm not sure if the real owners actually know they've been hacked or if this is just used as means to appear more "normal". I still report them every time, but I wonder if there's something else that can be done about those

I'm also currently working on a rewrite of "The Selkies" since I feel I've done this story a disservice by trying to be short. The rewrite will not only consist of minor changes but also a lot additional content.

On a side note, I remember this tweet where someone asked how to write stories longer than 2,000 words. For me it's more a question of how to write a compelling story in less than 20,000 words for me XD
