‘ let’s just hope the blood under my fingernails is my own, because if not i’m gonna b-be seriously frustrated, ’ she bites her lip, setting herself down on the ground again as she rubs, frowning. she tries to give a small smile when she hears the other’s words, though, ‘ i’m sure you were fine. if not, anyways, it’s okay, right? at least you tried. ’

‘ wow, thanks. ‘ the man tried to keep a straight face, but a chuckle escaped him. ‘ well, how old are you? i’m physically twenty-two. ‘ he gives her a reassuring smile. ‘ yes, now move those short legs faster. ‘

‘ oh my gosh, were you alive when the dinosaurs were alive? did you walk with them? ’ she’s joking, a teasing tone in her voice. ‘ nineteen. physically and actually. ’ she replies, her smile widening a bit at his own before turning again, facing the trees now. ‘ hey, i’m tiny, don’t judge. tired, too. ’

‘ as far as i know, no. but i’ve been doing this for over 2,300 years. ‘ he noted. he tried to widen his eyes. ‘ i’m fine— another ten minutes won’t kill me. ‘

‘ -- what? dude, you’re like, ancient. ’ and she giggles softly, a small smile on her face. ‘ you sure? ‘cause if you drop in the store i’m not dragging you home. ’

the newborn started to shake. “everyone thing is wrong. my throat is killing me because i refuse to kill every human here, i can sense everything, and my ability won’t calm down. i see everything and everyone’s history, and i don’t want to. i just want to die, I’m miserable. i’m lying to my sister who still thinks i’m human, my creator keeps on saying things are going to get better, but they just keep getting worse.”

kala feels for her, she really does. she hates seeing people in pain -- it kills her. ‘ why don’t you try animals? it’s what the cullens do -- or go into a different city, there’s more there. wear gloves, gloves will help. -- it will get better, i promise, just...hang in there. you gotta hold on. ’

Aurora glanced over before silently making her way over, working on breaking the shackles attached to the wolf. “You didn’t break them. That’s good, right?” Her attempt at comfort was weak at best, but she was trying. Just as others had done for her. “Did pretty good if you ask me.” She added as she finally released the other.

kala shrugs at the other’s assurance, wincing lightly when the shackles were taken off of her. ‘ i guess so, yeah. i still got out, though. ’ her tone is regretful, guilty and bitter. she was grateful aurora was trying to help, though -- it was what she needed. ‘ t-thank you. how’d you do? ’ she asks softly, rubbing the marks in her wrists.
