The obvious answer to "how does Mickey feel about all the parodies painting him as a villain now he's public domain" is "it upsets him to be portrayed as evil when he isn't responsible for Disney's bullshit" and I do love that bc u guys know by now I'm a sucker for angst but at the same time I think it would be really fun if he's only annoyed he isn't the one playing that parody role

Hear me out here's the vision. Mickey is a toon who is very used to having his image be used for a variety of roles. Most of his roles are already him but just adapted to fit the story in some way, whatever the role needs from him he will provide so he's very used to his name and image being used as a prop. So to him when he sees he's being used in a mocking way, that's just another role to him, the only difference between this and what he's already doing is this is the first time it's placing him in an antagonistic role. Yeah they're using him as shorthand for evil greedy corporation, or even just using him for cheap low-effort "edgy" horror, but is that really that different to all the other roles he's played in his life, where he's boiled down to a simplified version of himself? And then expected to act that way off camera, too?

So he doesn't take it personally. He's an actor, and they're just roles. That's what it means to be in public domain, he isn't gonna be upset or annoyed about it. Who knows, it might even be fun to be the bad guy for once. It's not like disney will ever let him experience that, so why would he be mad when someone else lets him have that?

What irks him is he doesn't get to play those roles, either because being disney's toon means he's not allowed to appear in non-disney projects without permission (which they will never do) despite being public domain, or because no one will hire him no matter how many times he auditions for it

Heyo! I have a quick question.

What is the difference between Mr. Slicker and Mortimer Mouse (the rival one)?

I always joked that Mr. Slicker is beta Mortimer since he basically is, the frist mouse rival character towards Mickey.

But they are a few difference.

1. He's a full blown criminal with a gang, while Mortimer is usally just a normal guy that so happen to be a jerk.

2. Minnie had no interest no Mr.Slicker while it's on or off when comes to Mortimer.

3. BUTCH. Okay this is weird but Butch and Mortimer are in a weird situation. Since Mr.Silcker was thr groundwork to making Mortimer.. and Butch used to work for Mr.Silcker as criminal. Yet when Mortimer and Butch did get comic where they appeared together, it is more or less treated like this the frist time they meet. But admitly this point it a bit shaky as Mortimer is referred to as Montmorency which is a slightly different version of typical Mortimer.. and I'm not completely sure how one one deal with this issue otherwise. It clear the Mr.Silcker situation still happened, heck the comix title Egg collector is likely a reference to Mr.Silcker and The eggs Robbers. But they can't really be the same character at this point in time, Mortimer has different role as rival character and adding the whole drama as Mr.Slicker to his character will make things extremely confusing.

So I think Mr.Slicker is just the pefect example of early installment weirdness. He was created as a early rival to Mickey who eventually become Mortimer Mouse. But since Mortimer isn't a criminal, we get the Butch - Mortimer weirdness

I don't like evil/villain/corporate Mickey usually but lately I've been invested in the idea of corporate Mickey and Mickey Mouse the Actual Character coexisting in the same space.

Like YEAH, Mickey would never do all of that! But at the same time, he is still the symbol of a giant mega corporation and thats not something that can be overlooked. So then I thought: What if they just... exist separately? But together? There's The MouseTM, the symbol and then there's Mickey Mouse, our Mickey, our beloved, lovable goofball Mickey.

Oswald means "God-Ruler"/"God-Power" with Os being the part that means God
