“don’t be shy” thanks u cured me
Feliciano watched the other as he took a bite and smiled that he had heeded his warning. “Hm, well, they’re not that different! Romantic comedies can be pretty dramatic but there’s always something cute and quirky about them that makes them feel-good movies!” The previews ended and the DVD menu came up. “Oh, I’ll get us something to drink while we watch! What would you like?”
Kiku appreciated the way he made it sound. That really was the charm of these kinds of movies and he could appreciate it if it wasn't too corny. He may be a serious person, but he enjoyed comedies so long as they managed to make him genuinely laugh. "Do you have any juice? Anything like that is fine." He replied before taking another bite off his fork.

“I agree,” Alfred said smiling softly. “I guess you have to be on your way though. I feel like I’ve taken up a lot of your time and I don’t want to do that if you have some place to be but…” he laughed scratching the back of his head. “If you ever wanna hang out man I’m all for it.”
For a moment he'd been worried it was him who was holding him up, so it surprised him when he apologized. It was nice to have the company, even if only for a little while. Perhaps a bit of social interaction wasn't so bad. He wanted to hang out with him? Kiku blinked at him a little nervously, but he didn't turn down the offer. "I-I think I'd like that, yes."
Feliciano took a bite of his cake and looked at the screen. Hearing Kiku question him, he went quiet for a moment. “Well….” He swallowed before continuing. “Yes…. They’re cute movies and I really like them! He you…. Seen these sorts of movies before?”
Kiku listened and slowly nodded before taking a small piece of the cake into his mouth. He noted Feliciano's comment from before and was careful as he savoured it. "... I've watched romance dramas if that counts." He admitted. They couldn't be all that different.
Feliciano served the cake up on the two plates he had brought and placed a fork on each one, passing the first piece to Kiku. “Ah…. Yeah! I mean…. I love Romance! The stories are really cute and sometimes I tear up because its so sweet!” He realized what he was saying and flushed a little. “Haha…. I guess that can be seen as kind of girly…”
Kiku didn't think it was girly at all. There was nothing wrong with liking romance. Even he didn't mind the fictional kind, though obviously he was rather inept with the concept in reality. He took the plate and glanced at the piece of cake before looking back at Feliciano. "It's not like that."
Feliciano got comfortable on the couch before remembering he had to cut the cake and sat up to do that. He hummed as he cut the cake and the DVD went through the previews, which were sort of giving away something about the movie he chose. He couldn’t help that he had a soft spot for romantic comedies. He didn’t care that they were “chick flicks.” He still like the genre a lot. “Okay, good!”
Kiku was watching the previews while Feliciano took care of the cake. It didn't take him very long to guess what kind of movie it might be judging by the accompanying movie trailers. These weren't the kinds of movies he watched, but he was familiar enough with shoujo manga that it could be enjoyable. "You like these kinds of movies?"

“That’s amazing!” Alfred exclaimed. “I wish I could draw more than stick figures. I got no talent for that stuff.”
Kiku smiled as he appreciated his enthusiasm. "Well, there is nothing wrong with stick figures." He encouraged. "But so long as you have something you're passionate about... I think you're just fine. "
“Oh, really? Well, it’s delicious! Just… Don’t breathe in when taking a bite! You might choke on the coffee powder!” Feliciano laughed, but he was speaking from experience. He’d choked on the powder more than once. “Ah, yeah! It is Italian! That’s why my parents sent it! They know I love Italian desserts!” He smiled as he set the DVD player to play and flopped back on the couch. “Now… Don’t laugh at the movie I chose, okay?”
Kiku smiled as Feliciano laughed, though it sounded like it was quite the serious tip. Even more concerning was that he had a feeling he was speaking from experience on this one. "It is to be expected, isn't it?" He was seated comfortably on the couch, but he was wondering why Feliciano would warn him like that. "Oh, I won't."
Feliciano smiled happily and nodded. “Yup! It looks like a tiramisu cake! Have you ever had that before? It’s different from actual tiramisu but is just as good!” With Kiku’s consent, Feliciano went over to his collection of DVDs and hummed as he looked them over and pulled out one and popped it into the DVD player.
"I think I... had it in a cafe once." Granted that was a long time ago given how little he ventured out, but it looked delicious whether it tasted exactly like he remembered or not. "It's Italian, isn't it?" Very fitting. Kiku was watching Feliciano as he quickly sorted through his movie collection.
Feliciano nodded happily and stood from the couch. “I’ll go get the cake, then!” He went over to the kitchen and brought out his cake with a big smile. “My parents sent this to me for my birthday!” He placed it on the living room table along with plates and knives and forks. “Ah… Hmm…. Well, if you really don’t mind…?”
Kiku waited and wondered what the cake might be like. He had expected something extravagant knowing Feliciano, but hearing that his parents had sent it was so sweet no matter what. "Did they? How thoughtful of them." He then nodded to let him know that it was perfectly fine for him to go ahead and choose.
“I have a cake! That’s sweet enough, right?” Feliciano suggested with a smile. “As for movies… I have a lot of different things to watch!” He wondered what might be of interest to the other, but he guessed they would figure it out together. Even on his birthday, he wanted to make sure Kiku had fun.
"Oh, a cake is perfect." He was more prepared than he'd anticipated, but it was his birthday. "Why don't you pick a favourite?" Kiku would watch whatever Feliciano wanted to and was sure he'd enjoy it either way.
Feliciano hummed as he plopped down on the couch, crossing his legs. “Well… It’s a weekend! But tomorrow is school so I can’t really do anything that might make me want to stay home tomorrow….” Not that he knew what he would do that would cause that sort of problem. “Do you have any ideas?”
Kiku gave it some thought. Surely there were things they could do at home. "How about watching a movie? Do you have any sweets?" No birthday was complete without confections of some kind.
“Hm, not really, actually! I said happy birthday to my brother, so it’s a free day!” Feliciano was happy to spend time with his friend on his birthday. And, well, he did like Kiku as more than just that, so spending such an important day with him made him happy.
Kiku nodded when Feliciano mentioned his brother and smiled since it seemed like they'd be spending the day together. He hoped to make his birthday a pleasant one. "Well then... was there anything in particular you wanted to do?" He suspected that Feliciano was just as enthusiastic about lazing around on his birthday as he would be actually doing anything.
Feliciano was just so glad to see Kiku visiting him, regardless if he had a present for him or not. “Oh! You’ll cook for me? That’s great!” He smiled happily and welcomed him inside, pulling him over to his living room. “Just relax okay!”
Kiku was grateful for his enthusiasm and welcomed the hospitality. "Alright, I think I can do that. Did you have plans today?" He asked out of curiosity and hoped he wouldn't keep him too long if that were the case.
Feliciano smiled to himself as he stared at his calendar. “Today’s my birthday!” Of course, he had never forgotten for a second that today was the day. He wonded if he would see anyone today. It wasn’t like he really announced his birthday to everyone, but he hoped he would get so see some of his friends at least.
Kiku was paying him a visit. It was the least he could do on his birthday seeing as he had yet to get a present for his friend. He'd apologize profusely for coming unprepared, but he had an alternative. "Happy Birthday...! Remind me next time you come over and I'll prepare a special bento for you."
