Shokugeki no Soma Final Chapter Discussion

I’m actually happy that Shokugeki no Soma reached its conclusion. This whole last story arc was total crap. It ruined the manga for me. I think that the anime is way better than the manga itself.

I’m sorry but I still don’t ship Erina and Soma. I never will. If you do that’s fine but I never will. I just don’t think they make a good match. Are they good rivals? Yes but in my opinion it takes way more than that to fall in love.

Soma’s main goal was always to beat his dad. Then take over the diner. He even states this himself in the final chapter.

Erina’s grandfather even states that his goal was to get her to be the best chef the Nakiri family ever produced.

Soma points out to Erina that the person who she wants most tasting her food is her mom. Not Soma but her mom. That’s the person she wants to please the most.

Those are the things I want to see in the final 3 chapters. Was this chapter the best? No but it’s a lot better than I thought it would be.

Unless Soma and Erina actually kiss, confess or marry no they are not Canon. Sorry.

i know there’s the joke that as kids we thought that the bermuda triangle and quicksand were way more serious than they actually are but you know what else i thought was a notable danger? whirlpools. i thought they just kind of popped up in the ocean randomly and sucked down giant ships to the bottom of the ocean and it was a big problem.

do you know how many recorded cases there have been of whirlpools sucking down large ships? zero. it’s never fucking happened in real life.

That’s the Gulf of Corryvreckan off the coast of Scotland. Granted, it doesn’t look as impressive as the whirlpools we imagined as kids. However, it’s just as deadly.

A documentary team from Scottish independent producers Northlight Productions once threw a mannequin into the Corryvreckan (“the Hag”) with a life jacket and depth gauge. The mannequin was swallowed and spat up far down current with a depth gauge reading of 262 feet with evidence of being dragged along the bottom for a great distance. The programme was transmitted in the UK by Channel 4 under the title “Lethal Seas”, while in the US on the Discovery Channel (the co-production partner) it was known as “Sea Twister!”
