misc sasusaku sketches from 2024-2025 🍅🌸
A smart couple 🤝 inspired by official art iykyk
Honestly when I hear someone ships sasusaku I assume they're violently homophobic or the kind of woman who would propose to a man after 14 years and four kids. The kind of girls who chase men who who don't want them and make it abundantly clear. I know fiction doesn't affect reality but I do feel like reality affects fiction and my gut feeling is that sasusaku shippers would get on one knee for a guy ( who probably can't stand them.) Please my sisters ship sakura with anyone else, release yourselves from this spell.
Would not wish their relationship on a bitch I despise
Totally normal behaviour, definitely not weird to think shit like this. Violently homophobic? Why would shipping sasusaku say anything about your thoughts on lgbt people? Let people ship who they like lmao how dare you insinuate shipping two fictional characters reflects on people’s values or character. Grow up and just enjoy other ships if you hate it so much.
You know, you could accept the huge changes that SP make of their anime adaptations of mangas if you treat the anime and the manga as two seperate continuities. I mean, they're their version. They can do whatever the hell they want with them. The manga creators can still do their own endings regardless of how the animes change things or not. Like, if SP wanted to make NS happen in their ending of Naruto, then they should've done regardless of whether Kishimoto made NH happen in his manga or not.
But they shouldn't be treated as two separate things, because unless it's an anime original show, then the anime is literally an adaptation of the manga. The entire point of it, is to animate what is shown in the manga, and that is what the fans expect it to do. So if the anime then goes off and does its own thing by changing or ignoring what is in the manga, then it gives an inaccurate representation of the source material. That is detrimental because anime has always had a larger global reach than manga - the anime fanbase has always been much larger than the manga fanbase, so more people will be watching the anime without knowing what is in the manga, which is the true story.
This can obviously lead to fans hating on the story or author for something that was shown in the anime, without knowing that the author had nothing to do with the bullshit that was shown in the anime, because it didn't happen in the manga.
The Naruto anime, is an adaptation of the Naruto manga. Therefore, it cannot be treated as something separate because that would contradict what an adaptation is. Even when the anime stays mostly faithful but changes a few things here and there - Whether or not those changes are acceptable would depend on the magnitude of the changes, and whether they would affect fan perception of characters and plot points.
For example, in manga, Sasuke and Sakura's fingers were interlocked while the former was in pain due to the Curse Seal:
Whereas in the anime, they changed it so that their fingers were no longer interlocked, and were instead just holding hands normally:
A minor change like that is fine because it doesn't affect anything in the grand scheme of things, nor does it really affect fan perception of the scene or the characters.
However, a change like the one I'm about to describe is wholly unacceptable.
Having Sakura doubt who she’d save first between Sasuke and Naruto.
This technically wasn't even a "change" per se between the manga and anime, but it was instead an anime only filler which was incorporated into a manga canon section, but it was so stupid and made absolutely no sense when considering Sakura’s very obvious allegiances to the village despite her endeavour to save Sasuke from the darkness. It occurred during Shippúden episode 222 (which adapts chapter 491 of the manga), and it was during a scene where Sakura was being tutored by a medical ninja.
During this scene, Sakura has flashbacks of their reunion with Sasuke in The Land of Iron. That’s when she wondered to herself who she’d save first between him and Naruto if they were both seriously injured. The scene occurs shortly after Naruto is transported back to Ichiraku Ramen:
In the manga however, after Naruto returns to Ichiraku Ramen from Mount Myóboku, the scene goes straight to Tsunade being pissed during the 5 Kage Summit because the general consensus was to hide Naruto and Killer Bee during the war, rather than to use them. Sakura having those thoughts never happened in the manga.
Canonically, despite her love for Sasuke, she would of course save Naruto first, not only because Naruto was also striving to save Sasuke anyway so it was really a no-brainer, but also because Sasuke was a rogue ninja who was aiming to destroy the village; Sakura isn’t stupid. However, a scene like this greatly altered fan perception of Sakura very negatively, and I remember seeing this scene as part of the reasons many fans gave for why Kishi failed at writing Sakura, despite the fact that Kishi had nothing to do with this scene.
This is why the manga and anime shouldn't be treated as two separate things. People expect the anime to do it's job and adapt the source material of the manga, and when it fails to do this, it consequently gives people a false impression of the true story, and often leads to fans having wholly incorrect perceptions of certain scenes, characters, and even leads to unwarranted hatred being levied towards the author.
To be fair we are allowed to treat Naruto manga and anime as 2 independent stories.
Naruto manga is Kishimoto's original story.
Naruto anime is SP hating Sakura so much and glorifying Itachi so much they had nosebleeds. They created hundreds of filler episodes, animated and misanimated, tired themselves out with their fanfic and sexualized characters.
Naruto fans and Bleach fans should be allowed to call SP trash for their work and demand a remake by other studios.
Even Boruto manga and anime are parallel universes too.
I didn't say that people aren't allowed to treat the manga and anime as two completely separate things, I said that people shouldn't do so, for the reasons that I explained - people generally expect the anime to faithfully adapt the manga material. So when the anime fails to do this, it gives the anime audience (which is always by far the larger audience) false impressions and perceptions of the actual story.
Fans who follow both the manga and anime will of course call out the anime studio if they do a bad adaptation, and rightfully so. But the vast majority are general anime fans who know nothing of the manga, and so will unjustly criticize the characters and/or author for things that didn't actually happen in the story the anime is meant to be adapting.
Don’t know why people call Sakura useless when she’s probably the female character whose done the most to help
Sasuke had no right with all this riz
cant even read or write yet but theyre already beefing smfh
Team 7, Kakashi probably took this picture, I just recreated it.
i love sakura so much ❤️🩹 she’s so gorg, talented, and strong—why people hate on her I’ll NEVER understand.
jfc we get it, you don’t like sasusaku and you have to couch this opinion in some sort of critique rather than just saying you’re more invested in your preferred pairing.
I stayed up super late writing the outline of an sasusaku au fanfic where they’re both adventurers in a dungeon and fight but then get stuck in a trapdoor and have to work together, Sakura is a strong fist monk martial artist and Sasuke is a dual wielding wanderer. I feel like I just had plot bunnies for some reason and didn’t even intend to spend that time on it but I feel like it’s not that bad idk if I should devote more effort to it or not. Might never see the light of day but idk.
Tbh the problem with ship wars is that everyone tries to find a moral high ground to prove their ship is superior when actually shipping should be about making two characters kiss like a kid playing with barbie dolls
I completely agree with this sentiment, a lot of people tie so much ego and morality into shipping fictional characters. You just consumed and interfaced with media and found something you liked in it, it’s nothing special. There’s no deeper truth behind it, every shipper is on copium and every shipper is biased and a little (or a lot) deluded. There’s nothing wrong with that. Just have fun and try not to let it ruin your day.
it’s also funny because I’ve noticed boruto shippers have their own shipping wars and accusations of studio Pierrot bias and it seems like things don’t change. I can’t really find it in me to be too invested in boruto or boruto ships though, I’ve heard people are enjoying it but I don’t feel any fomo over it.
I kinda only got back into sasusaku again recently after a while of being absent and and I feel like I’ve observed all sorts of anti Sasusaku arguments from all sides since hating on sasusaku seems to be popular. I've seen people attacking sasusaku from a pro sakura perspective, if coupled with anti Sasuke sentiment their ulterior motive might be being pro narusaku or they’re a yuri shipper or Sakura multi shipper, if it’s not they might be anti sasusaku and pro narusasu but try to frame it as it as a feminist act when selfishly they just want to enable their preferred ship. I’ve seen it from a Sakura hater perspective which is either anti shippers or narusasu shippers usually, but not all of them do this. I find it really annoying especially because a lot of people hijack certain opinions that I ostensibly agree with but only to defend their preferred ship and bash sasusaku.
