How comforting to know that in my deepest moments of despair, when the world is crumbling around me, when look for options to change something and regain some form or semblance of order, I will never find myself doing what you did. I will distance myself so far from your coping mechanisms to the point of viewing them as self sabotage, should I turn them on myself. I will grow my hair and change the bands I listen to. I will change my wardrobe and mannerisms, leaving behind the things that were once trademarks, that made it easy for you to identify me. You will be left with the pieces of me that you stole, and they will haunt you, but they will no longer resemble me. You may keep the ghost of a half-sincere smile; allow me to grin fully now, a happy expression to every observer but you, who will see nothing but bared teeth and the promise to rip you to shreds, should we cross paths again.
