Not necessarily a photograph. But sometimes words, simple words, written with ordinary pen and paper, tiny little seemingly-unimportant and useless letters scattered on a page, can summarize the love that one has received from another. My dad wrote me a note before I drove across the country and it wasn’t until a rest stop along the way that I noticed the envelope. It fell out somewhere between the mix of boxes and stacks of belongings I had in my car, onto the pavement. (I know it sounds like a movie but this actually did happen, promise.) It wasn’t a long note, but it was filled with some of the most important words I’ll ever read. These are the ones that meant the most. I love you, Dad.
