what if beel and belphie were the chronological oldest. the sun and the moon given form, halves of a whole. maybe they weren’t conscious, were biding their time until they found the rest of the brothers and fell into ranks with them out of the blue.

or levi being more beast than angel, relatively new to the angelic ranks at the time of the fall. relatively new being many eons, but he’d kept balance over the sea for many years. he was unused to an angelic form and returned to beast for a long time after the fall.

chronology in this totally real idea could be beel > belphie > asmo (born from the concept of love itself) > lucifer > mammon > levi > satan. maybe they weren’t all awake and in an angelic form, but they’ve existed a long ass time

lucifer is the strongest. he hasn’t been around the longest, but age is irrelevant to them so they defer to lucifer

or something, it’s late.

I would think Lucifer was the sun, or at least the light that was separated in the beginning since "Morningstar" could quite literally mean sunrise.

this is a good point! perhaps lucifer was the light created by god and beel was the sun's true body, still making luci the oldest in a sense? after all, in the bible light was created on day one, while the sun, moon and stars were created on day 4. the morning star could also refer to venus (or, in some cases, mercury) when it becomes especially visible over the eastern horizon right before dawn, known as a heliacal rising :)

this brings into question my late night ramblings, because if we use the actual bible's creation myth i'd order them in order of creation as: luci > levi (creation of dry land/the sea on day 3) > twins day 4, perhaps even lilith here ruling the stars? > mammon (fish and birds day 5) > asmo (land beasts/humans/plants day 6, following my "made by love" narrative) > satan, much much later. just because this was the order they could have been made does NOT mean that this was the order they became angels in though.

(i mean hey, this isn't canon so we can play around w it however we like right?)

no matter what way you slice it though, like you said in tags, lucifer is an OLD man, no matter the chronology. back hurt every day, poor guy

this was originally made for the anime release,, but i couldn't look at it anymore. i tried! swear i did! but the flowers got to be too much + technical difficulties with the canvas :( i had a list of all of the flower meanings but i er uh. lost that in the great tech fire too.

these boys are part of the military? kind of? they map out catacombs but the catacombs are WICKED DANGER. dell can heal anybody that he feels a close connection with (which is. everybody. he's the type of person who thinks anybody could be his soulmate) and machi can control shadows.

machi is so incredibly infatuated with this man. like he dreams of weddings and kissing under the moonlight, but dell just always says "you're my best friend i'm so glad you're alive :))" so he thinks he has no chance. however, dell's powers work best on him... hm.

dell gets crushes really easily and gets a crush on theophagy's main character avreya, which makes machi super jealous. machi's the scion of absence, so he's always looking for more because he feels empty. reya becomes the team's combatant (with machi being a kind of rogue and dell being the healer) and he starts trying to sabotage her subtly, which is hard because despite her caustic personality she's actually?? really easy for him to get along with???

but yeah reya loves them both but i dont think she has any interest in men. she takes on a team-leader role while in the field because she's so quiet she listens to every perspective and she's not the type of person to be wishy-washy about decisions, but she does still defer to the team's researcher when back up top :)
