J of Hearts

Jack Dawson, that poor dude that froze to death in the waters because Rose was selfish and didn’t let him lie next to her. He was my first Jack and it only made sense to do this. One day we were talking about movies and she mentioned how Titanic is her favorite. I too really love that movie. I remember the first time I saw it and how even though I was little, I thought the lighting was fantastic when the ship was going down. I’m weird I know. That’s beside the point. We started to say “you jump, I jump” so a quote from Jack was perfect for the first one. “I figure life’s a gift and I don’t intend on wasting it. You don’t know which hand you’re going to get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you…to make each day count.” That’s exactly what I’m doing now. What a better way to deliver making the hand dealt to us with a deck of cards, right? No? whatever. Tough crowd today. Her and I have done things out of order with trying to even start a relationship together so why waste any time inbetween the chaos. I’m living everyday as if its my last and making every day I’m in her life count. You’ll see!

7 of diamonds

Little background tidbit on me. I apparently have a million-dollar smile. I can’t walk into a room, smile and not hear about it from someone. Normally I smile back and say thank you then walk away. Never has it landed me someone so special until now. The month was number 7 and her eyes sparkle as bright as a diamond. This was one of four cards I gave her first. I told her that she could pick from 1 or 4 cards on the first day. At first, she said “four duh!” I responded with how one card at a time will take longer and four will make it go by faster. She switched to one then took them all. Hm, maybe I found someone just as impatient as me! I picked this card and wrote “The Month” on it. She was pretty confused and that’s okay. July was the month I met her. Wow, I’m an idiot. “Her” name is Wolfie. Her nickname is Wolfie due to her crazy curly hair and I don’t want to say her name on here yet. That’s another story needing addressed! I know after she just read that she’s probably shaking her head because I’m obsessed, OBSESSED with how crazy her hair gets. (Awe, baby I love your hair so much!) Anyway, back to the 7. When we met, she had me at hello. We both are uncertain if she even said hi but she’s the first to admit that I told her my name and she instantly forgot it. I’m going to go with because she was very distracted by my good looks and not because she wanted to forget it! Needless to say, I was extremely drawn to her in every way possible BUT I didn’t fully realize it for a week or so.

the cards

I created this project actually a few weeks ago. There’s more to it besides a deck of cards. This was just easier to write about and I can fill in the blanks later. I’ve always been a romantic at heart but haven’t exactly found someone worthy of a full blow project. Sure, I’ve done really romantic gestures but this one (if it pans out) should be one for the books. Every day I see her, she will get a card. I created this in my head accounting for days off at work and it should be right around Halloween that she gets all the cards. With how impatient we both are, it might be sooner however, for once in my life I hope not! Everything is strategically mapped out and I need to stick with the plan. On the days she gets the cards, I’ll take note on here what she gets and why. Basically, the cards won’t be explained in order. You’ll get them the way she did except now she can read the reasons behind them and why. Each card is special. Some will have hidden messages and meaning, some will be straight forward. Skipping to the end also won’t help because I’ll be holding the last card or cards depending on how I feel until this is read. Bummer right? Yeah, I’m an ass but it will be worth waiting. I promise

the Girl

I can’t begin to express what this girl does to me. In one month, I’ve become completely preoccupied by her. The way she moves, the way she speaks, the way her laugh makes me instantaneously laugh out loud, the way she pops around the corner when she hear me talk about her to someone and the look she gets when we try to make each other jealous for fun. I seem to be the only person that loves the sound of her voice. It’s my favorite soundtrack of the day. I’ll get so lost inside listening to her speak that all I can do is smile. I think to myself how lucky I am to have the attention from someone so pure and beautiful. Everything I know, I love. Everything else I want to know, I know I’ll love. When you know, I guess you know. She’s the one I can’t with everything I have left in me, I can’t let slip away. Picture your true love. Do you have that person in mind? I guarantee mine is better. Just sayin…

prologue

Growing up, I loved watching the Olsen twins’ movies. I’ve seen them all and “It Takes Two” is one of my favorites. Girl meets guy, they fall in love and it’s the whole “can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars world series kind of thing.” I never thought that kind of love was real. The movies make everything seem so easy! Well, let me tell you what. Love isn’t an easy thing to find! I’ve been in a few relationships, some good, some bad and everything in between. My last epic fail was deciding it would be smart to get married to a girl that I had doubts about from the start. We had nothing in common and completely different outlooks on life. Geez Taylor, you’re an idiot! Let’s save that story for another day, okay? This story is a better one worth telling. I understand this quote finally! Everything makes sense and maybe true love does exist. Ready to join me on the 52-card adventure? Only two people know about this project ahead of time and gave me the green light. I had to first ask permission at work (this was in fact very tough to do behind her back) Babe I’m sorry I needed to cover my ass for this and make sure every single step is protected. I had to lay it down on the line that I’m so in love with someone and I can’t get transferred just yet. I need to set up the whole project first. Once my boss gave me the okay and is sworn to secrecy that she will NEVER admit to anything except pick on me day in and day out, and I told a coworker that understands the whole gay side of life which is nice to talk to her about it all. She too plays a role in this that will later be identified. She told me it’s so cute an all for the idea. I’m scared, nervous, excited and always smiling. Why? Because I’m thinking about her. All day, every day. Shit my palms are sweaty just thinking about telling people all of this! Here goes nothing…
