I used to think my twenties was when I really grew up and became mature enough to do everything on my own. Ha! Who was I kidding?! Myself, for sure! What I didn’t screw up in my teen years, I definitely screwed up in my twenties without even knowing!
If you are a mom you’ll understand this analogy: my twenties were like my first kid! Everything I wanted (which were the wrong things) came to me almost seamlessly! But my thirties, is definitely the second child! They test your thinking, all of your morals, what life really means, who you really are. My thirties has truly changed the trajectory of my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
Friendships, family, careers, motherhood, and so on! I won’t even start on unlearning almost everything I was taught as a child (that’s for another post)! But seriously, MY thirties have been mind blowing and I wish I could say it was all good! Nevertheless I am grateful for the lessons and hope to encourage others who are just about to enter their thirties or leave their thirties to share some gems with those of us who need it!
I know this is a generalized post about all the things I hope to discuss in this blog but I’m just getting my feet wet!!!
Stay tuned…
