🚀GO CREW-2! Live stream & mission overview:

star lover, 2019
oil on canvas 16″ x 20″
Look, im a space nerd. I love physics, and astrophysics and shit, but also fuck spacex and fuck elon musk and everyone out there trying to make a profit for themself out of science.
musk doesn't give a fuck about science or knowledge, he wants to be famous, he wants to make history, and he wants to make as much money as he can while doing so. He doesnt care about anything or anyone else.
So, yeah, i was pretty exited for the crew dragon launch. Its a huge step torwards space exploration. Im proud of all the hardworking people at spacex that made it possible, they did a good job and i hope musk rots in hell along side bezos, trump, and every other billionarie and millonarie in this planet and beyond.
what's the significance of the dino they brought?
Hi! Tremor is the latest zero gravity indicator, something that crews use to visually signal when the mission has reached weightlessness. The commander of the flight traditionally selects the zero-g indicator (often assisted by their children!), and it’s usually a plush toy like Tremor
Dragon has achieved zero-g!
this is a comic abt looking at the sun. don’t look at the sun
What’s it like launching into space?
What can you see from the space station? Can you see stars, the moon and sun, and Earth weather like lightening storms?
Which is scarier? Launch VS re-entry?

Solar Prominence
A prominence is a large, bright, gaseous feature extending outward from the Sun’s surface, often in a loop shape. Prominences are anchored to the Sun’s surface in the photosphere, and extend outwards into the Sun’s corona. While the corona consists of extremely hot ionized gases, known as plasma, which do not emit much visible light, prominences contain much cooler plasma, similar in composition to that of the chromosphere. The prominence plasma is typically a hundred times more luminous and denser than the coronal plasma. (source)

The spinning vortex of Saturn’s north polar storm resembles a deep red rose of giant proportions surrounded by green foliage in this false-color image from NASA’s Cassini spacecraft. Measurements have sized the eye at a staggering 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers) across with cloud speeds as fast as 330 miles per hour (150 meters per second).

Constellations: Aries
Aries is one of the constellations of the zodiac. It is located in the northern celestial hemisphere between Pisces to the west and Taurus to the east. The name Aries is Latin for ram, and its symbol is ♈, representing a ram’s horns.
Aries has three prominent stars forming an asterism, designated Alpha, Beta, and Gamma Arietis by Johann Bayer. Alpha (Hamal) and Beta (Sheratan) are commonly used for navigation.
Deep-sky objects
NGC 772 is a spiral galaxy with an integrated magnitude of 10.3, located southeast of β Arietis and 15 arcminutes west of 15 Arietis. It is a relatively bright galaxy and shows obvious nebulosity and ellipticity in an amateur telescope.
Aries is home to several meteor showers. The Daytime Arietid meteor shower is one of the strongest meteor showers that occurs during the day, lasting from 22 May to 2 July.
Planetary systems
Aries contains several stars with extrasolar planets. HIP 14810, a G5 type star, is orbited by three giant planets (those more than ten times the mass of Earth).

THOSE POOR BABIES OMG WHY AM I LAUGHING AT THIS
Astronaut: We need to fund 1.4 billion dollars. NASA: FOR WHAT?! Astronaut: We want to put kitties in space and have them float around in zero gravity. NASA: Here is all the money. God bless.
Those cats are just ?????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!
Cat: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
NASA: fascinating…
