Going through the older posts here and… wow. I had so much fun making all of that, I’m not sure how I forgot about it so easily. That comic book competition I mentioned in one of those posts? I won, and I got Alex Ross to sign my piece (I have it framed!). All of Sennet’s newer art is very different, but some of it was in my college application, and I now I’m a senior making my own show before I graduate. I got accepted for a design internship in Japan and lived there for six weeks, and the experience gave me so much more context for Sennet’s early life in the comic I’m writing about her.
She’s so, so different in so many ways from the version of her that I drew for this blog back in high school. But it makes me happy to see where she started, and the friends that watched that with me. I’m glad this exists, it brings back so much joy that I forgot I had.
