One of the best ways to spend a Saturday afternoon in May is with a lover, planting seeds to grow and cultivate. We planted wildflowers and zinnias for our flowers and repotted banana peppers, bell peppers, and jalapeños. Up top we have oregano and sage. I'm excited for the fruits of our labor with some yummy veggie dishes!

Eugene Eda’s Doors for Malcolm X College– Chicago Cultural Center

In 1971, Eugene Eda painted 32 door murals at Malcolm X College. In 2012, with demolition in the air, the doors were saved. Today, we raise them. Representing black bodies throughout art history, the monumental doors are a landmark of the Black Arts movement in the city of Chicago.

One year and two months ago, we met at this forest preserve. One year and two months later, we wander welcoming grounds, talking of marriage, children, future homes, and all that lovey dovey jazz. Crazy how time flies when you're having fun ❤️

Canyons at Dellwood Park

Just another humid, sunny afternoon at a gorgeous disc golf course. I am always so impressed by how scenic and rugged these courses are. Gives me a nice challenge, physically...as sometimes one must retrieve their disc from streams, downhill, dodging all of the poison ivy. :)
