Pokenoire definitely made me hate "analysis".
Had they chosen to call out all of the rabid XY haters when it comes to pretty much anything and everything in it and/or admitted that they attacked XY fans first, I wouldn't hold this strong of a grudge.
I'm very glad I took someone's fan art without permission (basically lady n*ire fanart that pokenoire previously used as a pfp). He had to learn that you can't always defend with "analysis" and just scream at people the same way they scream at you, specially since they catch you liking something the majority don't (the X//Y anime, enough said!). I'm fully convinced pokenoire fully endorses toxic positivity.

Again, I love this arc of "fail â try again (a little too hard) â fail â Succeed (only when balancing fun and training)" that Ash goes from BW to SM.
And idk I guess I just get sad that some people get so focused on how "cool" XY is that they forget how much of a stepping stone that season is meant to be.
That Ash didn't had the right mentality in there. That getting stronger only is not the answer. That he needed to lose there to remember that fun is a big part of journeying (and specially of pokemon mastering!!)

Finally, I wanted to aknowledge those tags by @frogwithastrawberry after the league
because while I agree that he finally got some sense back on him in Snowbelle, he still relied mostly on Greninja and the Bond phenomenon during the league. With the frog always being his trump card (they even became famous in the league because of how often he used Ash-Greninja and how seemingly it never lost).
That's not trusting his pokemon and the bond he has with them nor going slowly as he said he would. He is trusting some magical thing he doesnt even know where comes from that makes his frog stronger.
Also, moments like this: where we see the pressure put on him to win. But also Ash's own overconfidence.
I'm not sure if the "of course" is accurate or not but if it is, it shows he is sure he will win. As long he keeps relying on Greninja, as long as he keep pushing harder and harder, he will get there. he is not even considering that he might lose. You get me?
Like, how he even gets late to his very first battle in this league in an amazing parallel to the Kanto league. And like, is this shit that makes me think that there was at least someone that knew what they were doing when writing Ash in Kalos. Like, paralelling the time he was the most desperate for a win in this season??? genius!!
I would argue that Ash only starts to realize his mistakes in Kalos after the Team Flare arc. After Lysandre really hammering down how much of a chosen one he is and him realizing that he could've lost all and it would've been in a moment he didnt even try to know the people around him properly.
I think it's here. right here. that we can say for sure that he understands that the way he has been doing things in Kalos was not the right way.
Finally someone got my thoughts across without me having to elaborate, he needs some time and a breather because Kalos Ash is racing for victory but the season is rushed (by the way and executive production) paid its price.
Everything in Kalos seems to be done in a hurry, just like Ash himself, there are so many things together to dismantle. HIS POKEMON NEEDED AT LEAST 5 EPISODES EACH I'M GOING TO HIT THIS KEY.
