btw i've never seen anyone mention this picture, but i am like almost certain this was the inspiration for disco's title screen, a shot from a movie La Jetée

the movie's plot even sounds VERY in line with disco's vibe, it's about a post apocalyptic paris and attempts of the survivors hiding in its catacombs to send people back in time to save the world from the nuclear war

This is such a good rec! On top of everything said before it has a very unique presentation. It’s basically a bunch of photos strung together with a voiceover narration and absolutely no dialogue. But it’s still really easy to watch, despite all that. Terry Gilliam’s 12 monkeys is actually based on/inspired by this movie.

And yeah, it is very disco-esque, don’t know why I haven’t noticed that before, but it seems so obvious now
