i think it really hurts lenny to think about his father and how he would in no way approve of lenny breaking the law and killing folks. i also think that’s one reason he’s so ready to prove himself to the gang, besides being the youngest gunman in it. it’s like he figures if he tries his best, they’ll be a great payoff. it won’t be all for nothing. he’s 19, passionate, full of spirit. and unfortunately that never does happen for him
