ALSO idk if julia knows that sam doesn’t really believe in witches or not? that wouldn’t really bother her b/c she didn’t believe in them either until she and jake started getting weird things on film, haha. i acTUALLY think that she’d be happy to have a skeptic/science geek around b/c when weird stuff does happen, she can be like EXPLAIN THIS!!!!! and just kinda see if there’s a logical explanation for the weird things (and then be all lakjdflkJLkjflakjdfl when there ISN’T)

TBH MADS PROBS HAS CHILDHOOD PHOTOS OF HER AND JULIA AS WITCHES FOR HALLOWEEN except it was almost every year… what if they just have a tradition now that every halloween they dress up as witches haha. it’s their ~thing~ lol. i think they make the best of friends because julia’s all sass and charmingly sarcastic while maddie’s all smiles and the human version of a chihuahua. they’re kind of a force to be reckoned with and just imagining them dragging jake along on all their adventures is hilarious to me. 

when mads was younger she thought she saw a witch bring a crow back to life in the forest. she told abbie but her sister just kinda ruffled her hair and was like “oh you” haha. when mads confides in julia and she believes her (better yet uses this as confirmation that witches do exist) i think that might’ve sealed their friendship??? like ok thanks for believing in me julia now you’re stuck with me for life 0:-) heh heh.

haha i can pretty much guarantee that julia has never been anything other than a witch for halloween tbh. “why would i want to be this less cool thing when i could be a witch?!!?!?” - julia every year when someone tries to convince her to switch it up. 

i literally CANNOT when imagining them dragging jake everywhere hahaha. julia literally gets things into her head like WE HAVE TO TRY THIS!!!!! and jake is like “julia that sounds awful” but he goes along with her anyway and i feel like this happens all the time with both of them being like “ofc we have to do this slightly life threatening thing it will be fun” and jake just like “do you even hear yourselves???” 

JULIA WOULD LITERALLY DIE TO HEAR HER SAY THAT!!! she’s always been fascinated by witches but hasn’t always believed that they were a thing (even though she always wanted them to be real) but having someone tell her that would have definitely been a “okay we are bffs for life” type deal b/c witches are everything to julia and coming across other people who think the same is a hard thing haha. :DD anyway, how long do you think they’ve been friends?? i feel like it’s been several years at this point??

[ Jalia ]  Brief Interviews with Hideous Trees

“I know you said you wanted to spend the weekend in the woods but, ow, Julia this, ack, this isn’t really what I had in mind.”

Jake Leister trailed after his best friend, camera rolling as always, fighting his way through the trees one handed. Though, at this point, the trees seemed to be winning. Having lived most of his life through the tiny display screen of his digital camcorder, one would think he would be better at judging distances using it.

But no. He really wasn’t.

The footage was shaky as it captured Julia’s back, moving just before him as she made her way through the woods with far more precision. If they were animals, Julia would be the silent, stealthy cheetah, tailing her prey before, finally, attacking.

Jake would that one monkey who fell out of the tree, causing a stampede.

“If we could just, I don’t know, stop for a minute? Maybe regroup? We don’t even know where we’re going. Or I don’t know where we’re going. Do you know where we’re going?”

He paused for a moment to readjust the strap that had started to slip from his shoulder, threatening to send the folded tent crashing to the ground. “Also, this tent is really heavy. Just fyi.”

Let’s spend the weekend in the woods, she said. Let’s see if we can capture anything interesting, she said. It will be fun, she said.

Yeah. Right. Jake was feeling all the fun already.

It was at that precise moment that Jake tripped over a tree root and launched face first into a low hanging branch. As Jake grabbed it for support, the branch broke taking Jake all the way to the earthen floor, baggage and all.

A muffled “ow” was all he could manage as he lay prone on the forest floor, possibly never to move again. Well, maybe.

Julia had ventured into the forest with a fierce determination that could only mean one thing: she was trying not to think about something. She was vaguely aware that Jake was saying something as he struggled to keep up. She’d been climbing over rocks and ducking under low hanging tree branches as quickly as she could go without actually breaking into a full on run. 

This was supposed to have been a good idea: a distraction. But in trying not to think about her recent break-up, it seemed to be the only thing that she could think about. 

And she hated herself for it. 

He was an asshole. They’d just been having fun and it was never going to be anything serious. It didn’t matter. She didn’t care. She didn’t. 

She was too busy trying to convince herself of this, that she didn’t fully register Jake’s questions about where they were. They both knew these forests about as well as anyone else in town did (if not better), but they were large and sprawling and there were areas she didn’t know. If she stopped to think, she’d realize that they were lost. 

It took Jake crashing to the ground with all of their equipment to bring her back. “You’re a mess,” She said teasingly, turning round to help him up. “Remind me to bring someone else next time,” She joked, as she helped pull him to his feet. As though anyone else she knew was crazy enough to follow her blindly into the woods for the weekend. 

“You okay?” She asked. 

It was then that she realized just how much Jake had been carrying. She’d grabbed her backpack and bolted out of the car as soon as they’d reached the woods and hadn’t even thought of the extra stuff they’d packed that Jake had been carrying. Oops.

“Hey, let me take that for awhile,” She said, hoisting the bag with the text over her shoulder.

OH MAN. AND HANNAH WOULD PROBS JUST LIKE GIGGLE BEFORE MAKING JULIA SIT DOWN AND SHARE THE BLANKET AND TEA WITH HER AND LIKE TELL FUNNY STORIES TO EACH OTHER AND UGH.

I haven’t typed up Hannah’s bio yet but she’s literally a lil fluff ball of sunshine. As long as you’re not a jerk to her brother, that is. Like, she’s everyone’s cheerleader and biggest fan and is pretty much THE person you’d want to call when you were having a bad day because she would instantly come over and hug you and tell you all of your good traits and things that make you special and wonderful until you felt better.

But literally the SECOND you turn on her family or even kind of vaguely mention that you think her brother is a second-rate cop, the FIRE that will come into her eyes!!!! (s/o to James Van North who tbh has barely survived Hannah nearly biting his head off fifty million times)

So yeah, no, Hannah is hella precious and protective of the people she cares about, which def now includes Julia and her newfound coven-family!!!! <333

THIS IS EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!! I feel like Julia is like “how are you even real” @ hannah 1/2 the time b/c she’s such a happy beautiful person and just alkjflaksjflkasdjflaksdfjaslkfj I feel like she’s literally leslie knope @ ann perkins sometimes like “oh hannah! you are so sweet and innocent and pretty!” and basically all of these posts tbh 

Anyway, do you think that they were friends b/f the coven was a thing or do you think that they are only recently friends b/c of the coven??? 

Also, I think that Julia loves that Hannah basically has a Isolde Martel level of sweetness about her but the moment you step on her loved ones she’s full on Lynessa ;DDD Like the fact that she’s this lovable sweet ball of sunshine but she’s also not going to take your shit is basically everything to Julia. Although the first time that Julia saw (sees??) Hannah get all protective she’ll be like “damn girl, i did not see that coming” *thumbs up*

I don’t think that Julia would have anything against her bro, so they are good there. She’s also hella protective of her friends, too, tbh and I feel like once she and Hannah are friends, she won’t listen to anyone talk badly about Peter, either, b/c once you are a friend of Julia’s everyone who is important to you, is important to Julia, basically <3

Anyway, oh man, there is absolutely no way that Alice even kind of acts like she hates Julia with the firey passion of a thousand suns to her face. Like pretty much only Zach really knows about it at this point, and I think Alice kind of wants to keep it that way?

Mainly so that there’s less likelihood of Julia deciding not to ~trust Alice anymore and thereby denying Alice access to the information she needs to shove Julia down a few pegs on the Walcott ladder, but also I think in part because Alice feels deep deep down that she will never be anything like Julia and it hurts because Alice has gotten it in her skull that to be like Julia is the only way to be loved and since that’s not gonna happen, of course the only response is to deSTROY HER.

Alice is great. She’s so wonderful. I’m so in love. This is gonna be so much fun. <3333

tl;dr: Yes, Alice is pretty nice to Julia right now, if probably a little bit snarky and sarcastic, but people probably just attribute that as Alice’s personality instead of seething envy/hatred.

In that case, Julia is actually super happy that she’s part of her coven *facepalm* I’m kinda imagining that they’ve known each other since they were kids since they are the same age?? And I feel like they always ran in different friend groups but ofc Julia was always nice to Alice (and vice versa it sounds like, even if Alice wasn’t as ... genuine ;DD). But anyway, I feel like Julia’s weird witch obsession doesn’t appeal to most ppl, but now that she’s got this group going she’s like oKAY BUT GUYS THIS IS THE GREATEST THING EVER!!!!!!! And would never ever stop to consider that anyone is here to tear her down and not b/c they aren’t interested in witches ..... 

I also feel like Julia is a pretty open person about most things and especially with her friends so basically whatever Alice tries to get out of her will probably end up being v easy to get hahaah.

HAHAH, good luck with that??? Julia really does love this town and tbh being on the council is like an actual life goal #facepalm. anyway, Julia and Jake have been friends forever! I can’t remember exactly, how long it’s been, but I know that they were pretty young? Also, I don’t remember for certain, but I think that Tina and I may have even had them as neighbors at some point??? EITHER WAY, once she and Jake became bffs, they were pretty inseparable, so I’m guessing that they would see a lot of each other and that Julia probably knows Rose pretty well, at this point?

while julia spends 50% of her time obsessing over witches, 30% of her time studying/helping around town, she uses the other 20% just doing random stuff
