So I had been thinking of the concept of "What if the headset somehow appeared in other worlds and timelines, and other sophont species had put it on, resulting in them entering The Amazing Digital Circus?" In this case I had imagined it being a Thalassic Gravedigger from Serina, and since TADC mind scans were designed for humans specifically, I imagined that it glitched out when it scanned the bird and so it's avatar is just how the Thalassic Gravedigger naturally looked. I suspect it would certainly be an....experience for them, a species who essentially lived in mesolithic conditions and now suddenly finds itself in a "circus" and encounters beings it'd never seen before. Plus Caine would probably just consider it to be another human guest and solved the language barrier by suddenly making it able to comprehend english and speak it with a simple snap of his fingers (which would absolutely cause distress).

If the Thalassic Gravedigger managed to adjust to the immediate chaos of the circus, I wonder how it would interact with the circus cast, since it's not human and never was, but is still a distinct sophont of its own right. Since their species is highly cooperative as a rule, highly religious with an emphasis that every living thing is important, have a deep fascination with nature, are quite pragmatic and artistic animals, and seem to be at least somewhat introverted, I suspect it might have these kinds of relationships with the characters: Pomni - Likely positive, though not quite sure how exactly they'd interact. Ragatha - Would likely have pleasant conversations with them, but would likely need to take breaks since Ragatha is pretty extroverted and thus could socially overwhelm them in prolonged talks. Would likely be curious about Ragatha's farm animals and talk about it's own domesticated fauna back home. Jax - Would absoluely despise Jax due to how little regard they have for others and their jerkish attitude, plus Jax would likely try to punt the Thalassic Graverdigger as the big is just around 2 feet tall. Zooble - Would likely enjoy being around them since they spend most of their time just quietly hanging out and not participating in Caine's adventures, plus absolutely disliking Jax would be something the two would absolutely find common ground on. Probably curious about their tattoo art and might talk about similar art their daydreamer neighbors would do. Gangle - Likely enjoys her company as well, and the two especially would likely bond over doing artwork. Gangle would likely introduce them to anime and after the inital weirdness the bird might come to like it a lot. Kinger - Probably cautious around him at first due to his generally wacky attitude making him come off as unpredictable, though the trusting nature of other circus members would likely help them somewhat relax around him. Would absolutely love to talk with a lucid Kinger about philosophical topics if the two offically met. Caine - Absolutely fears this thing, seeing it as some unnatural thing that seems in control of everything around here, including how they made it suddenly understand and speak an entierly alien language to it. Plus Caine's lack of regard for it as a distinct species and just calling them a human would get on its nerves REALLY quick.

Honestly that might result in quite the interesting conversations considering how different the Gravedigger's world and Annabelle's world are from each other.

Also in case anyone is curious, here is a size comparison between the Thalassic Gravedigger and a 6 foot tall stick figure. They would easily be the shortest being in the circus....

Alright, time to dust off my tumblr account to post new stuff!

Starting with this guy, known as the Redplate Pasakerd. At 3.2 meters long (or 10.5 feet long), this is the largest of a group of creatures known as the gossalizards! This beast is primarily a browser of trees, but rather than having evolved adaptations to reach up for high leaves, it instead evolved adaptations to shove the trees down to eat said leaves.

Around 67 Million Years Ago, in the plains of what would one day become Southern India. A pack of Alloraptorine Long-Necked Goliaths known as Rudralestes sollers had successfully isolated a sub-adult Ghodasimilicurosr velox, an Equititanine Long-Necked Goliath, from its herd. Now, the alpha female has made the critical move by pouncing on the victim and using her own weight to bring it off balance, causing it to trip and soon fall over. Once the Ghodasimilicurosr velox sub-adult is on the ground, the rest of the pack can quickly move in and finish the job.

Around 70 Million Years Ago, in the plains of what would one day become Southern India. The Dorcasaurine Long-Necked Goliath known as Retrosiadorcas indicus is searching for an ideal spot to graze while keeping an eye out for potential threats

In Late Cretaceous China, around 70 mya, a female Priaposauron(a kind of Duck-Billed Goliath in the group Casuarisaurini), trots along on her quest for food. She then spots something resting by a stand of trees, a fully grown Deinorostrasauron(a kind of True Tyrant in the group Dynamosaurinae). While they are the top predators of the region, this male had already eaten about a day ago, so the Priaposauron is not in any immediate danger. Even then, however, the female eyes him wearily while passing by, in case he decides to attack.

Retrosaurs: A Guide

This is inspired by another suggestion from @titleknown.  I’ve posted a couple things about my retrosaurs before, of course, but this one is different for a few reasons: 1. it’s more detailed, 2. it’s open source with ONE condition, namely that the designs used in this guide belong to me.  That is to say, all the written concepts here are open for anyone to use in any story they see fit, but all the monster designs in the images belong to me alone - especially the colored ones, since those guys are specific characters of mine.

All of the information here is canon for my novel-in-progress The Atomic Time of Monsters, but is also written vaguely enough so it could be used in other stories.  Once again, I must reiterate that the specific monster designs shown in these illustrations are mine - but I’m sharing the written stuff with anyone who wants it.

A detailed study on a Vennenitarsid, one of the last remaining groups of Syntarsid tiny tyrants in the North Hemisphere by the Late Cretaceous (having once been widespread there), with this individual being located in what will one day become China.
