It’s been literally years since I wrote fanfic, but I think I’ve been bitten by the bloodymary bug.

Because for the last 20 minutes I’ve been pacing around, thinking… every fic I’ve seen has Grace and Rocky saving Simon.

But what if Simon got to do the saving?

Every single non trans woman who proclaims to be an ally absolutely needs to be posting about how goddamn transmisogynist staff is.

Because when trans women dare to speak up for themselves, Tumblr nukes their blogs.

We need to be fucking loud about this, daily, because Tumblr staff is specifically targeting and deleting trans women who are not breaking ToS and who often have fundraisers up FOR THEIR SURVIVAL.

By deleting these blogs repeatedly, Tumblr staff is saying loud and clear what they hope happens to these girls.

Are y'all okay with that? Because if not we need to be posting about it more because we have seen by now it's incredibly fucking unlikely this sites moderation will delete our blogs for it because we are not trans women

Tumblr staff and CEO Matt Mullenweg want trans women in need to not be able to post their fundraisers, meaning they are okay with these women dying.

Perhaps this is an obnoxious take on my part, but video games should, above all things, prioritize the ability of being paused. At any point. Regardless of whether it's during a cutscene, a special animation, or a time-based puzzle. You never know when you're gonna get a phone call, or someone will need you in another room, or you get a sudden urge to go to the bathroom, or you hear your cat licking plastic, or whatever. Other entertainment mediums like books, movies, and music can be paused whenever you want. Why do some games not give you the same luxury??

i think the key difference between george lucas’s star wars and disney’s star wars is that lucas is a man with an ideology. someone with a point of view, and all that entails. which comes with ideas of revolution, anti-imperialism, challenging the status quo, cultural appropriation and racist stereotypes. complex and contradictory ideas because that’s how artists are: complex and complicated people. disney is not. disney is a corporation. a corporation can’t have ideology, because ideology defeats the purpose of profit. and when the only thing you do is to turn on the movie manufacturing machine before you sit down and plan what ideas are you trying to convey to the audience, then your results are going to be washed out corporate garbage. and because when you’re a giant corporation who only cares about selling to the widest audience possible, you can’t take sides. you can’t decide on an idea. because you want to sell your product to people who are on the entire political spectrum. which results in movies without ideology, without purpose, without soul.

let's admit it: spiritually, we are ALL that little green Eridian in the back. We all wanna see.

Science with the Saviors: kids' educational programming, co-hosted by Grace & Rocky.

Erid's Funniest Alien Audios: basically just clips of Grace faceplanting 20 times an Earth day, edited together by Rocky and set to humorous music.

Mono Tone: more educational programming, but aimed at all ages and focused on teaching listening comprehension & a little basic reading comprehension for Grace's first language. A certain subset of Eridian parents are determined to raise their pebbles bilingual (some of them are only starting families now because Grace Rocky save stars and they believe in a future for Erid again).

Found In Translation: Eridian-translated, Eridian-performed versions of various works of Earth fiction. (Grace LOVES tuning in to this one. And he will never, ever, ever attend one of these performances in person, lest he offend the performers by breaking down into tears of laughter).

The Secret Lives of Spacefarers: This one is only accessible if you know the right people; there are occasional broadcasts, but it's more often distributed 'under the table' in recorded format. It's pretty much anonymized podfics of RPF fan fiction, speculating about Rocky & Grace's private lives.

And of course... Grace Anatomy: A medical drama. (Despite the name, it's actually focused more on the team of brilliant, heroic Eridians who left behind their previous careers and bravely delved into the study of human health in order to save Grace's life.)

Finally bought some dye and have been having so much fun with optical color mixing. I decided to start with cmyk primaries to get some vibrant color options.

So far I've only mixed up the main batch of colors, but I'll split them up and create a palatte of tints and shades once I have access to a scale again.

I don't have any fancy tools and have been blending the fiber by hand, so it's probably best I have a forced break for the sake of my fingers. Once I'm done I should have a very useful set of 57 2g swatches to play with! (Plus 5 more for a set of grayscale swatches)

If I'm still up for it, I might repeat the whole thing with my classic red, yellow, blue primary dye set. For a truly massive set of heather swatches.

I'll create a comprehensive guide to all the color mixes and my process once I'm done, but in the meantime here's a mixing guide for the colors I've already done!

The ratios are presented in the same order as the wool swatches in the photo above it. I didn't simplify any of the ratios so you'll have to deal with 2:2s instead of 1:1s, oops.

For anyone curious, I used brilliant yellow, deep magenta, and caribbean blue from Dharma dyes on their corriedale wool for my base colors.

Finally finished weighing out and blending all the tints and shades! Each color got a swatch mixed with 50% white, and 50% black.

Plus some pure black and white mixes to compare to my cyan/magenta/yellow midtone gray tint and shade.

I really like the oil slick quality of the color based grays!
