How every day feels.
My destination is no longer a place, rather a new way of seeing.

Book Club
You know youāre quite popular when thereās two new members in your book club and oneās made cookies, a regular member brought in lemonade and granola bars, and two hugged me when they left. They are such darlings! <3Ā
Totally discarded this beauty today-- Circa 1999! Love her daisy elastics.
This is the book display I started at the beginning of the November, 2014. Next Friday will be exactly 50 years since JFK was shot. Shockingly, it took place on a Friday then, too. I decided on asking,Ā āWhere were you on November 22, 1963?ā Patrons sometimes pass by book displays, but I wanted to interact with them- with the past. It led me to come up with this bulletin board display. Sarah graciously made the poster and I made the note cards. Patrons have been filling out the cards with such heartfelt answers. As you can see, the board is nearly full now. Through their answers, you feel how it individually affected their lives; how their stories still bring them together. It appears our nation continues, yet, to be in mourning. Not being even a twinkle in my parents eyes at that time, it has really put me in their hearts and shoes. I love my job !
"It was Novemberāthe month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines. Anne roamed through the pineland alleys in the park and, as she said, let that great sweeping wind blow the fogs out of her soul."

Someday London, someday.
The word adventure has just gotten over used. For me, adventure is just when everything goes wrong. Thatās when the adventure starts.

Beauty and brains
I think people are often quite unaware of their inner selves, their other selves, their imaginative selves, the selves that arenāt on show in the world. Itās something you grow out of from childhood onwards, losing possession of yourself, really. I think literature is one of the best ways back into that. You are hypnotized as soon as you get into a book that particularly works for you, whether itās fiction or a poem. You find that your defenses drop, and as soon as that happens, an imaginative reality can take over because you are no longer censoring your own perceptions, your own awareness of the world.
Jeanette Winterson,Ā The Art of Fiction No. 150 (via bookmania)
Ask her what she craved, and sheād get a little frantic about things like books, the woods, music. Plants and the seasons. Also freedom.
