“We have to remain on a united front for this, Eustass-ya.”

Kid sighed as he rubbed his face. It was the last few days they could be legally occupying the dorm, and he had not entirely figured out his living situation. Heat and Wire had offered to let him couch surf between their places, but they both had studio apartments, and most of his stuff would still be in Killer’s garage anyway. Luffy had approached Law and Kid, offering a house that Luffy’s grandma, Dadan, had been renting to his older brothers. Both of them would be studying abroad for a year. More like Sabo was studying abroad, Ace was just backpacking around another country again, and they needed a warm body in the place or Dadan would rent it out to someone else.

It really was a nice offer, too good to pass up. Law was starting his residency and it was close to the hospital, nor was it terribly far from Killer’s house, under a ten minute drive. However, Law had pulled Kid into his room, both of them standing among the boxes and medical textbooks. They both agreed, it was good, but the glaring issue would be that they would then continue to live with Luffy, something neither of them were really sure they wanted.

Rubbing the back of his head, Kid looked out into the living space, Luffy just smiling blankly at the two of them standing in Law’s room with his lanky arms hanging over the back side of the couch. There was not a single thought behind those eyes, and it was unsettling. Law reached over and slowly closed the door, both of them equally creeped out.

“Look, we can both agree that this is a good deal. An actual house we can fit in, only cover utilities, and it’s a desirable location. But do we really want to be babysitting that—” Law motioned to the door of his room, indicating he was talking about Luffy, “—for another year?”

Kid sighed, his shoulders slumping as he looked down at Law, “You’re not wrong. I can keep working on campus this summer, but come the fall, I’ll have to find another job, and not having to pay rent would be a dream. Not sure living with Luffy is all that worth it, though. Might rather starve…”

“Wait,” Law blinked at Kid, “You aren’t running the underground robot fighting ring anymore?”

“For legal purposes, I ain’t answering that.” Kid glared down at him.

Law nods in response, folding his tattooed arms again, “Right. Back to topic, we both agree. We tell him no.”

Running his hand through his hair, the redhead sighed, nodding, “Yeah, we tell him no.”

The two men exchanged a look, shaking hands in a manly fashion and turning to the door again. Law opened the door, pushing Kid out first to face Luffy directly. The steely resolve they had before was fading fast under the blissful blankness of the boy wearing the straw hat. Luffy was a handful, but he had still been their dorm-mate and friend acquaintance for the last two years. Sure, it had been rough, almost near torture at times, but he had always been a good person.

As Kid looked into the sparkling and awaiting gaze of Luffy and gulped, Law stood behind his larger frame. He nudged Kid closer to Luffy, making Kid be the one to break the news. They both knew that Luffy would be absolutely heartbroken to hear them say no, and now that they were in the moment, neither Kid or Law wanted to be the one to burst the idiot’s bubble.

Kid’s mouth ran dry as he stared the other boy down, swallowing hard as he finally mustered to crack out the words.

“Yeah, let’s do it.”

“Yes! Shi-shi-shi-shi!” Luffy laughed as he jumped on the couch, then fell on the floor, breaking through the coffee table that was furnished through the school and they would now have to pay for (again).

Law threw his arms up, an exasperated growl escaping him, “YOU HAD ONE JOB, EUSTASS-YA!”

Kid turned on Law, gritting his teeth and motioning to Luffy on the floor as the other boy let out a very weak ‘I’m okay’, “THEN YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE LET ME GO FIRST! YOU LOOK THAT DOOFY LITTLE MORON IN HIS STUPID LITTLE DOE EYES AND TELL HIM YOU AIN’T GONNA MOVE IN WITH HIM!”

The tattooed man looked at Luffy, who sat there on the pile of debris that was the coffee table, laughing and adjusting his old straw hat atop his head. Law swallowed hard, huffing out his nose as he turned back to his room, “FINE! But I get the biggest room!”

“And he slammed the door behind him after that.”

Kid’s head lay in your lap later that night as you rather idly played with his hair. You both were on the couch since Killer was working late at the restaurant, and you two managed to steal some time together. However, even Kid could tell your focus was elsewhere. His story of him and Law agreeing to move in with Luffy at his grandma’s rental was really not the most riveting of news, but you were usually far more engaged in conversation than this. The only response you gave was a small affirmative ‘Hm’.

Your gaze wasn’t focused on anything in particular, resting your chin on your knuckles as your fingers in his hair slowed slightly. It was obvious you were distracted.

“Hey,” Kid sat up a little bit, turning to look at you more. It’s not as if he was going to demand your attention, but it had still been a few weeks since the two of you did anything below the belt. He had been getting a little antsy, “You good?”

At first you barely registered that Kid had sat up until he touched your chin to look at him, “Huh? What?”

Kid cocked a hairless brow and gave you a smirk, “You haven’t heard a word I said, have you?”

You heaved a heavy sigh and pushed his hand away, “Yeah, you and Law are moving in with Luffy at some house or another…”

“Okay fine,” he pouted a bit, laying his head on the back of the couch and folding his arms, “You win this one…”

Looking over at Kid, you sighed and then laid your head on his arm, “You’re kinda right, though. I don’t know if I am good or not. I’ve just been… all over the place with work and this big project we are trying to get done…”

Kid watched as you bit your lip; there was more you were not telling him. He had come to learn some of your tells. Not that you really kept secrets from him, the two of you had been very open and honest with each other the last few weeks since the highland games. Even if you didn’t say it right away, you eventually did. It was a level of honesty Kid was not used to having outside of Killer, and he was still not sure how he felt about it.

He was about to leave it for now when your phone on the coffee table started to light up and buzz with a blocked number. You closed your eyes tight, waving a hand at it, “Reject that, will you?”

Again, Kid gave you a quizzical look, “It’ll just go to voice mail. Why not turn it off?”

“Because then I will have to turn it back on and see all the flipping messages!”

You growled a bit, throwing a pillow at the phone. It knocked it off the table, both the pillow and your phone sliding across the room. Again, the screen immediately lit up with a blocked number, and you just turned to bury your face against Kid’s pecs. He did not hate that, but it was a little hard to see you so upset over something that could easily be dealt with.

Gazing down to you with a small glare, Kid struggled to hide his annoyance and possible jealousy, “Who’s blowin’ up your phone? One of your former dates?”

Breathing heavily out of your noise, you slowly looked up at him, resting your chin on his chest, “No,” there was a heavy coat of frustration in your voice, “Worse.”

Kid blinked, his features softening. What could be worse? It wasn’t Aphelandra, you did not have to ignore her calls if she ever even called in the first place. If it were work, you’d have answered, not that you were a workaholic, but you did have a large project that was due soon and busy. He racked his brain, unable to come up with anything.

“Really?” You sat up and looked him over a moment, your phone already going off again in the corner of the living room, “You can’t figure this one out?” Kid shook his head, chewing on the inside of his lip, “Do you not remember what brought me back to living with my brother a few months ago?”

“Oh…”

Kid did not remember. His brain was still on rewind, and you could see it in his face that it was moving at a snail’s pace.

“Oh my god!” You threw your arms in the air, getting up to pick up your phone, “My ex-fiancé! Yonji!”

“Oh!”

Kid’s eyes went a little wide, then got up to pick up your phone before you even reached it. His legs were longer, as were his arms. It took him no time at all to put an arm around your waist and hold you at his side as he picked up your phone from the floor, the blocked number image showing up and ringing yet again. According to the screen, it showed over ten missed calls, all blocked numbers.

You wiggled in his hold, struggling to grab your phone as he held it at a distance you could not reach. At his height, your feet could not touch the ground, either.

“Why is he calling you?”

“Give me back my phone!”

“I could just answer it and tell him to fuck off.”

“DON’T YOU FUCKING DARE!”

Looking down, Kid gawked at you, surprised. A wicked grin spreads across his face, thumb primed to select the accept call option when it started to vibrate again.

Defeated, you sighed, going slack in his arms, “I don’t want to give him the satisfaction of knowing anything in my life right now. I haven’t even posted on social media after I moved out,” you huffed loudly, arms hanging there when you looked up at him, “Can you please put me down? This is getting uncomfortable…”

Kid allowed your feet to touch the ground, handing you your phone, but not before turning it off. He understood your request, but for him, the temptation would be there if it lit up again. You sighed heavily, looking at the empty screen as if a built up pressure had been released from your body. Slumping your shoulders, you leaned forward, face first into his chest. Naturally, Kid wrapped his arms around you, rubbing your back.

“Our anniversary is in a few days. It would have been five years.” You huffed, resting your forehead between his massive chest muscles. “All I can think of is what a waste of my time, and just want to forget. However, he has not stopped…” There was a small tremble in your body, and it almost made Kid clench his fists in anger, “…I’m thinking of getting a new phone number…”

“Fuck that guy!” Kid did not hold back his ire, not that he ever would have, “Where’s he at? I’ll give that fucker a piece of my mind!”

It at least garnished a snort from you, “A piece of your mind includes your fists. You’ll get arrested, and I’m not bailing you out this time.”

“That was for the robot fights, not an actual fight.”

“And you are still running them! I’m not bailing you out of jail for anything ever again!”

Kid’s hands went up as it was now your turn to glare at him, “Okay, okay! I get it. I won’t go anywhere. Just…” he ran a hand through his hair, the other going to his hip as your face went back between his pecs, “I don’t like seeing you so agitated and distracted. Not when I’m here and we actually get to be alone for once.”

You looked up to him and saw the pout he was trying to hide. It was cute, and he had a point. While you two still stole some time alone when you were able to, the last fully intimate moment you had was when you gave him head after the games. The news of your step-mom’s pregnancy had rattled you, still rattled you a bit, but looking up at Kid giving you that look just made you smile, made your heart flutter all over again. He always made your heart flutter, but you weren’t about to tell him that; or anyone for that matter.

“You’re right,” you leaned back from him and took both of his large hands in yours, “We are completely alone for once, and I have been ignoring you and your needs.”

Kid looked rather confused, especially as you began to lead him back to the couch, sitting him down. You watched the light in his eyes ignite when it finally clicked in his head what you were getting at when you straddled his lap and ran your fingers through his hair. The pads of your fingers dug into his scalp when he pulled you in for a heated kiss. While you two stole a few kisses and make outs here and there, it had been a while since you really allowed for anything more, and now that you were letting down that wall, Kid wanted to take full advantage.

It was exactly what you needed, his rough hands slipped into the band of your shorts, then panties, gripping your ass harshly as he hummed to himself. Your own hands ran down his thick neck, then over his chest and arms, mapping the shape of his muscles that you had already come to know so well. You missed this, the feeling of his body, of his need for you and only you, as well as what he lit up deep within you.

Kid slipped your shorts off from your hips, at least as well as he could with you still straddling him. You felt how hard he had gotten and quickly with you in his lap, giggling with him as you helped to adjust yourself to get your lower body stripped and then laying on the couch under him. He watched you with both amazement and hunger as you unzipped the hoodie you were wearing with nothing else underneath. It was over sized on you, given it was his, having stole borrowed it on one of his more recent visits.

With all of the sexy outfits he had seen you in, nothing was more arousing to Kid than to see you in his hoodie, and nothing else. He kissed you again, spreading your legs apart gently with his thigh, contrasted by the roughness of his hand as he cupped your sex and ground his fingers against your slit.

“Been far too long, Princess…” he panted between kisses, moving his lips down your neck and then to your chest. You could already feel his lipstick smearing across your skin as he did. Kid reveled in the taste of your skin on his tongue, it was the most delicious thing he had ever tasted. He left a trail of love bites over your breast before he swirled your nipple into his mouth, feeling your gummy walls clench around his fingers as he slipped two of them in.

You panted heavily, shifting your body to remove the last bit of clothing from yourself, “Far too long, I—”

“No,” a gasp escaped you as Kid growled, stopping you from removing his hoodie, “Leave it on.”

It was a little unusual from his normal commands of you, but the look in his golden eyes burned in a way you had not seen before, leaving you unable to do anything else but comply. As his fingers worked their magic, knowing your insides better than you knew them yourself, you ran your fingers through his hair, clinging tightly as his mouth began to mover further south, leaving a trail of love bites and lipstick along the way.

Kid gripped at the hoodie with your hips as he planted his face firmly between your thighs, licking and sucking at the apex of your pleasure. You bit your lip as you watched his eyes roll back with a euphoric hum when his tongue lapped at your folds, watching him become lost in the rapture of your taste. Rocking your hips against his face, you panted out his name heavily and repeatedly, just as you would the rest of the night.

You cocked a brow when you saw Kid’s beat up truck outside of the gym. He always mocked the gym you went to for being ’Hoity-toit’ in his words, so why else would he be here? After you two finally fucked for the first time in a while, you lamented how it never seemed like you two ever got to enjoy the after math long. Kid had held you close and said one of these days you’d get to wake up next to his beautiful face. He got mad when you wouldn’t stop laughing.

As much as you would still enjoy having a peaceful morning next to Kid not having to worry about anything, that was still a far away possibility when you woke up a few mornings later. It was the day of your anniversary to Yonji, and you had told Kid you wished to be alone. And yet here was his shitty ass truck sitting right there waiting, most likely for you.

Knocking on the window, the redhead nearly jumped as he looked over, then leaned across the bench seat to manually roll down the window, “Holy shit, Y/N. I was just about to text you.”

“What are you even doing here, Kid? Aren’t you supposed to be moving today?”

The man shrugged, trying his best to give you a nonchalant smile, but you could see right through him, “I’ve hauled ass the last few days to make sure things went smoothly. Law was concerned that the longer this went on, the more could go wrong, especially with Luffy’s involvement. Plus, I got the basement to myself and just… wanted more space…”

While his explanation made sense, you were still suspecting something to be up. Kid typically respected when you wanted your time. You folded your arms, not budging on your own mood and feelings toward the day.

“I’m also pretty sure I told you I wanted to be alone today?”

He almost looked like a kicked puppy with the pout he gave you, “Well, yeah, I know but… I still wanted to come and see you?”

Kid flashed you a rather unsure smile and you just blankly glared back at him, obviously not convinced. “Okay, fine!” The red haired man caved after the smallest moment under your scrutinizing gaze, “I may or may not have arranged some plans the other night to surprise you with after you mentioned about not getting to get more time together after sex. Then you texted me today that you wanted to be alone, and well…”

“So cancel them.”

Kid bit his lip, “I, uh, spent a lot of money on it.”

“Then take Goombie. I am not really in any mood—”

His eyes went wide, almost horrified, “I am NOT taking Killer to a couples spa and fancy hotel!”

You nearly dropped your gym bag, just staring at him with your jaw on the ground.

“Repeat that, Eustass Kid?”

Wincing at your use of his full name, Kid threw his hands up, “Look, it seemed like a good idea at the time. You didn’t want to think about your anniversary to that dip shit, so I thought, like… an actual spa visit would be nice instead of just whatever we have around the house and sitting on the couch. There was a package deal with this hotel chain, and just thought, well… two birds one stone. We could have a nice time together to get your mind off things, and then I could bang your brains out in a fancy hotel room where we don’t have to worry about who might come home or who might hear us or what kinda mess we make for once.”

Stunned, you just blankly stared at him. You weren’t even sure you blinked.

“I know, it now all sounds stupid in hindsight, but it’s nonrefundable, and…”

It was his turn to be shocked when you opened the door and climbed into the truck to kiss him. Slowly he smiled into the kiss as you held his face between your hands.

“You’re an absolute moron, but god damn if that is not the sweetest thing someone has done for me lately.”

“So… you’re good?”

You sat down in the passenger seat with as you tossed your gym back into the back storage space of the truck and closed the door, “I’m good. Let’s go.”

Kid pulled up to the hotel, the valet service giving him a rather strange look when he tossed them the keys and said to not scratch it. You rolled your eyes, still in your gym clothes as he put an arm around your waist and waited in the line for the front desk to check into the room. Standing there, you started to feel a little out of place. No one else really seemed to care, but the staff was dressed nicely, and most of the other hotel patrons were wearing high end clothing.

You shifted the weight of your stance, and Kid held you closer, leaning down to whisper in your ear, “I’m gonna fuck that little pussy of yours so hard, Princess,” his words caused your knees to go weak and you almost audibly moaned, “We’re gonna make such a mess, we’ll have to ask for extra sheets.”

He kissed your temple almost innocently, and you glared up at him with a smirk, already feeling out of place and now you were hot and bothered, “You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?”

Kid smiled back at you as if he had never spoken a dirty word in his life, “I ain’t got a clue what you’re talking about.”

It would almost be convincing if his large hand had not firmly cupped your butt cheek.

You both got checked into your hotel room, a rather fancy suite with a huge bed and nice view of the city. The bathroom was even bigger, and you were eying that waterfall misting shower. You would not shut up about it as you both walked to the spa for your appointment, mostly because it was rather amusing to watch Kid get jealous over a shower.

The hotel’s spa had robes for you both to change into. The package offered a couples facials, some seaweed wrap thing, a soak together in a hot tub with salts, and then ending off with full body massages. The facials were nice, Kid kept looking over to see you relaxed, which annoyed the woman working on his face. He was pretty sure she scrubbed him harder in retaliation. It did not surprise you that he did not like the seaweed wrap, complaining of the fact he was not able to move and felt very constrained. At least he was allowed to hold your hand.

When you got into the hot tub, Kid immediately pulled you into his lap and kissed your neck. He chuckled a bit, “You taste like that seaweed shit.”

You also could not help but laugh, “Guess I’ll just have to use that fancy shower when we get back to the room.” Letting out a sigh at the thought, you felt Kid’s grip tighten around you, feeling him pout against your shoulder.

“It’s big enough for two, ya know.”

“Yeah, I know…” he huffed only slightly.

Placing your hands around his at your waist, you giggled slightly, “By the way, how was it you had a swimsuit for me for us to do this part?”

Kid cleared his throat, sitting up a bit to scratch his cheek, “Well, I… might have stopped by your place first… to get you some clothes… since you were at the gym…”

You turned to look at him, “Excuse you? You took my things?” Not that you were really upset, it was actually rather sweet he had put so much thought into this.

“You stole my hoodie,” he kissed your cheek, the only place he couldn’t taste the seaweed, “And it’s not like I can wear your stuff to take for myself.”

Now you couldn’t get the thought of Kid in one of your shirts out of your mind, knowing how it would constrict his muscles and most likely rip. The idea was hot to say the least, but right now it was not the point. You turned your head to give him a small peck on the lips, the two of you smiling as if this level of intimacy was apart of your everyday life and there was no secret to be held.

“I guess I can forgive you. Seeing as how much you loved to see me in your hoodie.”

The two of you made out in the hot tub, at least until one of the attendants cleared their throat to let you know that your massage was ready. It was entertaining to watch how quickly Kid went from worst pains of his life to absolute putty. You were more surprised at how much he kicked his feet during his foot massage, trying his hardest not to burst out laughing.

After it was all said and done, you really did feel amazing and refreshed, as if the weight of the world was no longer on your shoulders. You did shower after everything, and Kid did join you for the first part to wash all of the oils off. His big, rough hands explored your body and helped to wash your back, though you were surprised he didn’t do anything more. That was until he gave your bum a firm smack after you finished washing his back and he rinsed off.

“Don’t keep me waiting too long, Princess, or there will be consequences.”

“Aye aye, Captain,” you laughed as you washed your hair, happy that he was allowing you the extra time in the shower to enjoy it alone.

Kid smiled as he heard you singing in the shower, looking at himself in the mirror and flexing his muscles. He was beyond hyped up for the marathon he was about to put you through.
