Biked home again, and did an equivalent amount of biking yesterday (although I did not end up at home).
Well, I learned yet again that I’m bad at sticking with rules like this. For once, though, I’m going to attempt to get back on the wagon, as it were. I will feel embarrassed by the thought of digital historians, otherwise.
However, I’m also going to put some stuff here that is likely to be even more obnoxious than the drivel I’ve posted so far: mostly updates on my life that I don’t want to burden normal tumblr folk with. So this is your second warning: this blog is probably going to be even less interesting.
This is related to my first use of modafinil on Thursday and Friday, which worked *really well* for getting me to do work efficiently and quickly, but *really badly* for making me aware of my surroundings and motivations. Definitely a “sometimes” thing.
5 nonconsecutive wide grip pull ups 3 close grip chin ups 10 full-rom push ups
Another day, another hour reading and doing problems from mackay
Roger Chao
Slightly disappointing first paper of the week
One hour of reading and doing math problems from Mackay
20 limited-depth push ups 6 wide-grip pull ups (not consecutive)
Biked home
Arrived at work: 10:55
5 close-grip chin ups
3 attempts at pull ups (weird arm pain; not sure what’s up; should probably stretch better)
20 full-ROM push ups
Updating goal
Read at least three research papers per week.
Knowledge goal
Five out of seven days per week, do one of the following (or appropriate linear combinations):
Read a textbook for one hour (currently working on: “Probability Theory” by E.T. Jaynes, “Information Theory, Inference, and Learning Algorithms” by David Mackay, “Molecular Biology of The Cell” by [various], “Planning Algorithms” by Steven LaValle, and “The Elements of Statistical Learning” by Trevor Hastie, Robert Tibshirani, and Jerome Friedman)
Spend one hour working problems from said books.
Spend one hour on Anki practicing stuff
Biked home (wet lap)
Biked up the hill for the second day in a row.
55 full-ROM push ups
Punctuality goal
Be at work before 11:00 at least four days of each week.
