I mostly worship Zeus Aethiops (Aka zeus the black) and i got so used to seeing with dark or tanned skin that whenever i see arts of him being this typical representation of white skin and white hair with blue eyes it’s like ahhhh jumpscare 💔💔

Sorry guys for me Zeus will always be black (or tanned) and with black hair. Sometimes i do actually see him with white hair though, these to represents the clouds. But in skin color for me he will always have melanin, unless its Albin Zeus but he still has like some mediterranean - black characteristics yknow

This has been on my mind for a while, but the myth where Hera throws Hephaestus away because she considers him "ugly" sounds more like a story about postpartum depression or psychosis. Perhaps in ancient times, people witnessed mothers rejecting their babies for this reason? It makes perfect sense, too, since Hera later recovers and has a very good relationship with Hephaestus, in the Iliad she even calls him her "glorious blazing boy."

To be honest i can’t see the gods in one specific appearance, like everytime i draw them or imagine them, there is always something different in them.

There are some things that stay the same ofc for example Zeus always being black, Athena with owl eyes, Apollo with blonde hair, etc etc.. but like every time i’m worshipping these gods and i have to imagine them how they look, they always change and don’t stay in one specific design.
