My parents see

Two different shades of red

My mother

With rose colored glasses

The ones everyone loves to talk about

My father

With only blinding rage

That makes his words

Drip and sting

Like venom

The red that everyone

Sweeps under the rug

And turns a blind eye

And says

Its not their business

What goes on behind closed doors

I am upset

That he passed this color

Down to me

And my brothers

Who yell

And hit

And make everyone cry

Because no one understands

That we didnt ask for this

But then again

Neither did they

I am upset

That i mix both shades up

And cant separate them

For the ones i love

I am upset

For the ones who suffer

Because of me

Who feel the sting
