moschino pre fall 14

jeremy scott's first stab at moschino exaggerates classic silhouettes and hardware, exudes a playful pastiche of the vintage jordache variety by pasting a dress on top of a trench, and has hints of self-referential design elements (t-shirt depicting the literal label). it's a great synergy of creative direction since the house is one of few to boast humor on the runway (leather jacket purses??). interested to see where he goes from here, but excited about his higher end arrival.

NPR is streaming the new VonStroke album just in time to ease my itch for something new to cut around town to. this video is visually stunning. with organic and inorganic flashes of bodily terrains, this music video compliments the carnal, yet minimal, tone of twigs' vocals against Arca's production. the last 30 seconds of billowy digital fabric looks straight out of Iris Van Herpin's imaginings. Dip into the madness.
